Responsibilities:

As a Process Technologist the main purpose of your role will be to ensure factory trials are planned, organised and executed using a standardised approach whilst also ensuring that outcomes are effectively captured and communicated in the necessary format to all relevant stakeholder groups.

Further responsibilities of this Process Technologist position will be:

  • Co-ordinate factory trials
  • Support R&D Trials at Site
  • Develop and Maintain Manufacturing Instructions
  • Develop and Maintain Product Files
  • Facilitate Continuous Improvement
  • Trial Sample Selection and Evaluation
  • Validate Raw Material and Packaging functionality
  • Process Validation
  • Support Profit Improvement Projects (PIPs)
  • Evaluate and Communicate Trial Outputs

Qualifications:

As Process Technologist you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in Food or Chemistry discipline
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Experience researching and developing products
  • Understanding of the key elements of the launch process

Site QA Lead – West Midlands

The Job:

A Site Quality Leader is responsible for ensuring quality and regulatory compliance of the facility, while driving process effectiveness and efficiency. The Site Quality Leader represents the company to external agencies and champions the evolution of the quality culture for the site.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of this Site Quality Leader role will include:

  • Directing the Site Quality Management System, fully integrated into the Global Quality Management System, including cross-functional and site-specific processes. The role is responsible for facility compliance covering voluntary, regulatory and company quality requirements and will champion quality initiatives at all levels of the organisation.
  • Maintaining and improving all aspects of Site Quality Planning.
  • Overseeing all Quality-related communications and training requirements for all site employees
  • Establishing positive relationships with outside agencies
  • Hosting Quality System audits and inspections
  • Overseeing the Corrective Action / Preventive Action activities and Complaint Handling Programs, and in some cases, Quality Engineering
  • Report on Quality System effectiveness and requirements to management team as required including preparing and executing facility Quality Management Reviews
  • Driving the definition of site quality objectives, metrics, reporting and operating mechanisms
  • Participating in selected global initiatives to share best practices and leverage quality synergies
  • Supporting local R&D programs and quality issue resolution
  • Acting as Management Representative for Quality at the Site
  • Operates a Local Inspection program and manages f/up activities to close NCs.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this Site QA Lead role you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Medical Device Technology or Scientific Field
  • You will have an understanding of product development, manufacturing, quality control and servicing in the medical equipment or pharmaceutical industry.
  • You will also have hands-on experience with FDA, QSR, ISO, MDD and/or other international quality systems requirements.

Temporary Process Development Scientist Job

Hannah Milward at CK Science is currently recruiting for a Temporary Process Development Scientist to join a global manufacturer of pharmaceutical and veterinary products. This process development job is initially for a 6 month period and is based in the Merseyside area.

Process Development Scientist Job Description:

As Process Development Scientist, you will work within a small group of scientists on lab scale process optimisation activities for the downstream processing area in support of the biotechnology product pipeline. The role will be both office and lab based and will require the successful applicant to contribute to the success of the group through design, execution and analyses of experimental activities.

The key responsibilities of this Process Development Scientist position will include:

• Delivering key development goals through hands-on experimentation and demonstration at lab scale.

• Designing and analysing experimental regimes using sound statistical techniques.

• Regularly communicating plans and status to key stake-holders and working flexibly to overcome issues and barriers encountered.

• Delivering high quality technical reports to support proposed process improvements.

• Responsible for ensuring that safe systems of work are in place and adhered to for process development activities.

• Developing close alignment to supporting functions, including Manufacturing Operations, Project/Process Engineering and Quality Control Labs to ensure that process improvements can effectively be delivered at manufacturing scale.

As Process Development Scientist you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• Ability to interact with scientists, technicians, engineering, analytical support and other operations support personnel.

• Experience in the operation of lab or pilot scale chromatography and tangential flow filtration equipment, specifically GE Akta systems and Sartorius or Millipore TFF packages.

• Possess a working knowledge of analytical techniques required for protein purity assessment, including HPLC and ELISA methods.

• Ability to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships at all levels in the organisation.

• Ability to operate in a cGMP environment and produce technical documentation to high standards.

• Degree or equivalent in scientific or engineering discipline, preferably with a biotechnology focus

• Experience in the use of statistical software to design experimental approaches and analyse the data generated

Validation Support Technologist (Temporary) – East Sussex, UK

Our client is looking for a Validation Support Technologist to join their Validation team which aims to drive increased Quality, Compliance and Business improvements, by writing and executing validation documents according to a Validation Master Plan.

Validation requirements encompass that of newly installed equipment, cleaning, utilities, computer systems and process improvements. You will be responsible for maintaining the exisiting validation status via review and revalidation and be part of a team that delivers the Valiation Master Plan. You will support Process Support and Business Improvement Teams associated with other projects. You will be responsible for all areas of validation within at least one of the four Orals Value Stream production areas.

The ideal candidate for this Validation Support Technologist position will possess a degree (or equivalent) in a scientific or engineering discipline. It is essential you have experience of previous validation work, ideally within the pharmaceutical sector. You will be able to plan, organise and control workloads of self and others to meet deadlines and deliver schedule and targets. This position is for a minimum of 6 months.

Molecular Biologist Job (Temporary) – Hertfordshire

My client is looking for an experienced Molecular Biologist for a 12 month period who has experience in the design, execution and trouble-shooting of plate-based biochemical / immunological and cell based assays. You will be based in Hertfordshire, UK.

 

The ideal candidate for this Molecular Biologist position will also have experience in various aspects of molecular biology (cloning and expression), protein biochemistry and purification would also be desirable. Proficiency in IT data analysis packages (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint and Word). You will have a degree (orequivalent) in a scientific capacity with some industry experience would be advantageous.

Research Biochemist – North East of England

Our client is a contract R&D and manufacturing Biopharmaceutical Company based in the North East of England and they require a number of Research Biochemists at different levels to join their downstream purification project team. Positions are available on both a temporary and permanent basis.

Working as a Research Biochemist, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team and be responsible for developing and scaling up processes and supporting their transfer to cGMP manufacture.

Process Development Technologist Required for Leading Food Manufacturing company based in Leicester, UK

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company, is currently seeking to recruit a Process Development Technologist to work with them at their site in Leicester on a temporary basis for a period of 3 months.

This Process Development Technologist role will involve being responsible for coordinating the manufacture of products from kitchen concept into factory within the commercial criteria signed off by the customer. Key departments this role will be involved with will include Operations, Engineering, Technical, Procurement, Planning, Commercial and NPD therefore communication and teamwork are key for this role.

Key responsibilities of this Process Development Technologist role will include:

  • Attend product handover meetings to understand and challenge, where necessary, product attributes.
  • Provide details of necessary quality standards for new products (including product life) ready for customer technologist sign-off.
  • Completion of written and photographic standards for customer and operational areas
  • Prepare scale-up recipes.
  • Provide required packaging details to enable generation of keylines.
  • Manage the ordering of new raw materials and packaging onto site.
  • Effectively carry out and co-ordinate each stage of required factory trial programmes.
  • Run pre-production trials with the customer in attendance.
  • Send all required samples throughout the development process to the customer, as necessary.

The ideal candidate for this Process Development Technologist role will be educated to degree/HND level, or equivalent, in a food related discipline and have detailed knowledge of food manufacturing processes and experience in a high care chilled environment. Previous experience with M&S as a customer, an understanding of the underlying fundamentals of food processing specifically in the chilled food category as well as dough/pastry/batter knowledge would also be ideal but not essential.
