Barney Smith at CK Science is currently recruiting for a number of Shift Managers to join a food manufacturer based in the Central Belt of Scotland. Due to a company restructure and increase in workload they have a number of vacancies for shift managers to run production lines.
As a Shift Manager you will be responsible for:
Managing the efficient running of the designated areas of production
Assisting in implementation of plans
Achieving KPI targets,
Manage and train staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
There are positions available for night shift or for a rotation of earlies and back shift.
The successful candidate for these Shift Manager positions will have a proven track record in production management within the food industry and in managing production teams.
Our client, an industry leading Petrochemical Testing Laboratory, are currently looking for a Shift Analyst to join their state-of-the-art Crude Oil Assay Laboratory facilities based at their site in London.
Working as a Shift Analyst, you will be responsible for distilling and analysing crude oil samples and other hydrocarbon products using a range of analytical, characterisation and deposition tests such as Crude oil characterization, hydrocarbon analysis, Asphaltene and Waxes deposition as well as catalyst pilot plant evaluation testing.
This Shift Analyst role is on a rotating, three shift system, based on Monday to Friday – 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11pm or 11pm to 7am.

Our client is an analytical laboratory based in the North East of England. They have a requirement for an Shift Chemist to join their busy analytical laboratory.
The company are a major player in their field and have a policy of promoting from within. They perform a large an unrivalled range of tests and will offer training and development in house.
As a Shift Chemist, you will be working on a shift rotation and will be required to analyse samples in the laboratory using wet chemistry techniques, GC, FTIR, UV and AA and collect samples and perform on site testing.
To be considered for this Shift Chemist position, you must be qualified to minimum HNC in chemistry or related subject or possess equivalent industrial experience. The work is challenging and you will be required to work in all weather at all times of day. However, the work is rewarding and it would be an excellent opportunity for someone who is flexible and adaptable in their working practice who continually wants to improve.
