Research Scientists (Nutrition) – Yorkshire

Naynesh Mistry is recruiting for Research Scientists (Nutrition) to join a leading Biopharmaceutical company based in Yorkshire on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities in this role include organising, conducting and evaluating analytical results, and testing independently in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs and regulatory agency guidelines. You will also be required to maintain, operate and perform routine and non-routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and software.

Research Scientist – East Midlands

Naynesh Mistry at CK Science is currently recruiting for a Research Scientist – Fermentation R&D to join a leading biopharmaceutical company based in the East Midlands on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

As a Research Scientist you will join the R&D fermentation team and you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the producing gram quantities of recombinant proteins
  • Developing fermentation processes and providing technology transfer support
  • Be expected to work both independently and within a multi-functional team
  • Be responsible for performing fermentations, maintaining the professional standards of the laboratory
  • Documenting and communicating your work. 

Qualifications:

The successful Research Scientist will have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • BSc Life Science or PhD entry level or equivalent
  • Evidence of DoE (Design of Experiment), Microbial Physiology and Systems Biology understanding.
  • Good practical knowledge of fermenter and complementary technologies
  • Ability to work independently to deadlines, be flexible to changing priorities and be comfortable multitasking.
  • Team player with good communication and scientific writing skills.

Senior Microbiologist

This candidate is currently working as a Senior Microbiologist and is looking for her next challenge. She is experienced with a wide range of microbial tests including environmental monitoring, endotoxin test, sterility tests, bioburden tests etc. She is also experienced with developing new and managing existing methods and procedures to ensure continual improvement in testing to GMP standards and the validation of new methods and microbiological laboratory equipment. Other skills include supervising and training junior members of the team, participating in in-house audits as part of the QA quality system, carrying out investigative, problem-solving studies on failed batches and ensuring the completion of all associated GMP documentation.

This candidate was most recently working as a Quality Assurance GMP Associate and is actively looking for her next role. Within this role she ensured compliance to cGMP activities related to the development of pharmaceutical products for use in clinical trials. She reviewed and approved production, analytical and other information/documentation accompanying the release of API, excipient, clinical suppliers and packaging components. She reviewed and updated SOPs and analytical test methods as well as reviewing Batch Analysis Reports, Batch Manufacturing Records, Batch Packaging Records and technical documents received from contractors. She also provided support to process and analytical method validation projects, managed product stability studies and ran and participated in Lean Sigma activities such as Quality Circles, MDIs and 5S audits.

Research Biochemist – North East of England

Our client is a contract R&D and manufacturing Biopharmaceutical Company based in the North East of England and they require a number of Research Biochemists at different levels to join their downstream purification project team. Positions are available on both a temporary and permanent basis.

Working as a Research Biochemist, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team and be responsible for developing and scaling up processes and supporting their transfer to cGMP manufacture.

To be considered for these Research Biochemist roles, you must have a degree in a biochemistry related subject or equivalent experience and some experience of working in a commercial biotechnology environment. Technical knowledge and practical experience of protein purification techniques including primary harvesting, column chromatography and filtration would be beneficial. Entitlement to work in the UK is essential.

An exciting Senior Protein Formulation Scientist job has arisen at a global biologics unit based at a state-of-the-art Cambridge site. This site is home to around 390 employees, and serves as our client’s European hub for research and development.

This innovative company is committed to developing better medicines that help people live healthier, longer and more satisfying lives. The company’s main specialisms are focused on the areas of infection, respiratory and inflammatory disease, oncology and neuroscience.

Working as a Senior Research Scientist, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating and directing a team of scientists performing analytical work associated with the formulation development of proteins. You will ideally have a Biological Sciences related PhD, preferably with a strong biochemical component. You will also have a strong background in practical Laboratory industrial experience, preferably with protein analytical components. Additional requirements for this Senior Research Scientist role include:
