Quality Engineer – Newcastle

Heather Deagle at CK Science is currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join a leading biotechnology company at their site in Newcastle. This will be initially a temporary contract covering maternity leave.

Responsibilities:

This Quality Engineer role involves developing positive relationships and working closely with operations to ensure that products and processes meet quality expectations. It will also involve:

  • Performing and developing validations in accordance to regulatory requirements.
  • Assisting with failure investigations following customer complaints and internal process/product failures to ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented. 
  • Assisting with internal and external audits where necessary.

Qualifications and skills:

The successful candidate for this Quality Engineer job will have a degree or similar in a Scientific or Engineering based subject with proven industrial experience within the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or Engineering Industry with a strong working knowledge of cGMP and ISO 9001. The ideal candidate will also have;

  • An understanding of manufacturing processes including those involving plastics or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • excellent writing and communication skills with knowledge of validation processes
  • A background in statistics and quality engineering techniques (e.g Design of Experiments (DOE), Process Capability (Cpk/Ppk), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)).

Job description:

Working as a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for working as part of a small team involved in designing, developing and maintaining QMS systems on site; running of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) & 8D projects including development & production validation plans and setting customer standards; supporting DFMEA & PFMEA activities; ensuring resolution of customer complaints and internal product non-conformances through root cause analysis and driving corrective actions as well as conducting audits both internally and of suppliers in line with quality standards (ISO).

This is an outstanding opportunity for two individuals to join a leading name in the field of specialist polymer materials. In return they offer an attractive salary and excellent benefits package.

 

Person specification:

To be considered for this role, you will have a qualification in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent) and demonstrated experience in a Quality Engineering function including working knowledge of tools / activities such as FMEA, 8D and APQP as well as ISO quality standards (including ISO9001) gained within a Chemical, Polymer, Automotive or related industry.

Quality Engineer Job – (Medical Device) Hampshire

Our client is a world renowned Medical Device organisation who develop innovative & industry leading devices. They are currently looking for a Quality Engineer to join their QA & RA Division based from their site in Hampshire.

Responsibilities:

Working as a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for working across the Production, Development & Quality internal teams as well   as external suppliers.

Your duties will include:

  • Developing, creating and maintaining regulatory & quality system (ISO 13485, ISO 9001, Medical Device Directives) documentation
  • Developing & carrying out equipment & process validation
  • Aiding with transfer of new products to manufacturing
  • Carrying out non-conformance & root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions as well as assisting with internal & external (customer & supplier) audits
  • In addition to your duties in the Medical Device side, you will also be involved in supporting a small pharmaceutical division as and when required.

This candidate is a masters level Mechanical Engineer who is looking to break into the Technology industries.

His offers a multifarious skill set including strong general mechanical engineering skills; demonstrated experience of mechanical design including use of programmes such as CAD (Solidworks), FEA, MATLAB and ABAQUS; previous experience of developing prototypes and product simulations as well as knowledge of mechanical testing.

He is currently looking for work so is available to start immediately, looking for £20k – £22k and flexible on location.

This candidate is a PhD Electrical Engineer who has gained strong research experience in the field of Materials Engineering.

His research saw him exploring the electrical and other properties of thin film semiconductors through performing material deposition using PECVD systems as well as material characterisation using techniques such as PL, EL, XPS, SEM, RBS, FTIR, AFM and Opto-electrical.

He is currently looking for £28k, available immediately and flexible on relocating.

He also offers a demonstrated background in people and project management having worked as both Quality and Manufacturing Managers.
