Engineering Projects Manager Job Description:

As Engineering Projects Manager working with this global pharma company, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating and controlling engineering projects to support the manufacturing process of pharmaceutical products whilst adhering to cGMP.

Other duties of this Engineering Projects Manager position will include:

  • Managing day-to-day plan installation work
  • Prepare commissioning strategies
  • Implement strict project and financial controls on projects and undertake feasibility or scheme designs.

As Engineering Projects Manager, you will not be responsible for any direct reports, however, you will coordinate a team of Project Engineers so good communication and leadership skills are essential.

To be considered for this Engineering role, you will be qualified in an engineering/science subject and/or have demonstrable experience managing engineering projects, ideally, in a GMP regulated environment.

Engineering Manager (Pharmaceutical) – Hertfordshire

Reena Dhana at CK Science is currently recruiting for a Engineering Manager to join a Global Pharmaceutical Organisation at their site in Hertfordshire on a full time, permanent basis

Responsibilities:

As an Engineering Manager, the main purpose of your role will be:

  • Guiding projects for Capital Investment.
  • Accountable for end to end delivery of projects from initiation through to Closure.
  • Ensuring the projects are resourced according including looking at manage risks, schedules and approved budgets to ensure successful deliveries
  • Ensuring Good Engineering Practices (GEP) are used in the design, installation and commissioning of assets
  • Undertaking Change Management, Deviation Investigations, Corrective Action and Preventative Action (CAPA) activities and root cause analysis (RCA)

Qualifications and skills:

As an Engineering Manager, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • HND in an engineering discipline (or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience in the Project Management in GMP, ideally in manufacturing and/or packaging
  • Demonstrable experience in managing projects from small scale to multi million pounds
  • Previous experience with contract and budget development, cost control, negotiation and execution
  • Proven understanding and familiarity of FDA and MHRA guidance for solid dosage form facility design and operation, cGMP and H&S regulations

Laboratory Manager (Environmental) – Scotland

Barney Smith at CK Science is looking for a Laboratory Manager to join an Environmental Consultancy who provides a range of services to clients internationally to join them at their site in Scotland. Due to a significant increase in workload they have a requirement for someone to run their sample process laboratory.

Responsibilities:

This Laboratory Manager role is high pressure and will involve:

  • sample prep and analysis
  • work planning and scheduling
  • staff management
  • costing of projects and quotes
  • report writing
  • maintenance of quality procedures

Skills required:

For this Laboratory Manager role a background in science and laboratory management would be useful but project management skills and planning work are essential for the role.  You will also be confident enough to supervise staff, suggest change in procedures as required and negotiation. Your time will involve both analysis and management and you must be a self-starter who would be happy in a hands-on role.

This candidate is an experienced QC Analyst who has carried out qualitative and quantitative analysis for a wide variety of medicines including in process, intermediate, API and stability samples. He is skilled with method development and validation of analytical methods by HPLC and GC and has performed HPLC assay and impurities / degradation product testing; mass balance analysis; equipment troubleshooting; analytical method transfer; stability testing; protocol generation and report writing to GLP standards. Other equipment he is familiar with includes KF, potentiometry, UV, and FTIR.

Project Manager

This PhD level candidate is finishing with Abbott Laboratories shortly and in his current role he leads the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes. He also works within manufacturing starting up new API processing and he has led several projects, establishing timelines with API and analytical teams. He has also worked for Pfizer on the Synthesis and development of organic molecules and for GSK doing new routes evaluation on pharmaceutical products and steroids synthesis.

This candidate is a strong Chemist with a good understanding of project management who is looking for a new role due to uncertainty at his current employer.  He would be available to start immediately and though on a higher salary than that on offer would be happy to consider a lower bracket for security and prospects.

Project Manager Job (Pharmaceutical Development) – South East, M4, UK

We are currently searching for a Project Manager to join a CMO based along the M4 to act as a liaison between the client and internal Pharmaceutical Development Departments to ensure that all needs are met concerning both project budgets and timelines.

 

Responsibilities:

As Project Manager, you will be accountable to the internal organisation, as well as to the client, to monitor and maintain the project budget and timelines.

Typically managing up to 5 medium projects at one time, as Project Manager, you will be responsible for following:

  • The chairing of all project meetings, teleconferences and face-to-face interactions etc
  • The generation, updating and facilitating of agreements to project plans including accuracy of revenue forecasting, data transfer to the Sales Order Register and timely invoicing to clients
  • You will also have responsibility for the generation, monitoring and control of assigned project budgets, ensuring full transparency of performance versus budget for all assigned projects and for resolving project issues and resource constraints within the team

For this role Project Manager position it is essential that you can effectively communicate internally and externally, adopting a professional approach within the project teams, with clients, and to internal Senior Management. Client Management is another key aspect as is the ability to provide training, mentoring and support to other project managers and coordinators.

Xcelerate Health Outcomes is a dynamic and fast growing unit of NHS Innovations London offering health economic consultancy to the pharmaceutical and medical devices industry as well as NHS Trusts. The unit helps clients to conduct economic evaluations in medicines and healthcare interventions by carrying out projects which incorporate health economic and patient data. We are now seeking to expand the unit by recruiting an experienced Project Manager. The main purpose of the role is to provide project management expertise for Health Outcomes studies conducted on behalf of pharmaceutical and medical device companies and other healthcare stakeholders.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Project management of Health Outcomes studies commissioned by pharmaceutical and medical device companies
  • Production and analysis of project plans, milestones and resource requirements
