Fermentation Scientist Job – Merseyside, UK

Our client, a research-based pharmaceutical company based in Merseyside is currently looking for a Fermentation Scientist to join their Fermentation Science & Technology Group. This position is a 6 month contract role.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate for this Fermentation Scientist position will provide technical support to Fermentation Operations with the objective of maintaining and improving product quality, yield and throughput in line with business plan and quality commitments.

Key aspects of this Fermentation Scientist role include:

• Analyse production data to monitorand improve process performance. Use of data to make sound decisions.

• Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot manufacturing issues. Investigate and complete deviations.

• Identify and implement process improvement initiatives. Generate and complete change control documentation.

• Work closely with the Fermenter Team and other manufacturing and support functions to resolve day-to-day issues and drive continuous improvement.

• Review and amend relevant documentation, including batch production records, process flow documents, standard operating procedures, bill of materials, etc.

• Write technical reports to capture key learning.

Required Experience:

Candidates for this Fermentation Scientist role should be educated to degree or post graduate degree level (MScor PhD) in a relevant Scientific or Engineering discipline. Experience of fermentation process operations and cGMP requirements would be advantageous.  You must be available for work at short notice as this is a CONTRACT position and the requirement is immediate.

Packaging and Graphics Technologist – East Midlands

A Packaging and Graphics Technologist is required to join a leading manufacturer of Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care products on a 12-month contract basis.

The main duties of this Packaging and Graphics Technologist will include:

  • Generating artwork and coordinating projects.
  • Developing packaging to assist projects.
  • Managing the labelling system.
  • Supporting the process for calculating and coordinating the packaging waste submission.
  • Supporting advice on packaging.
  • Artwork and labelling developments as well as complying with site health and safety procedures.

The successful candidate for this Packaging and Graphics Technologist position will be educated to HNC/HND level, or equivalent, preferably in a packaging/graphics or related subject. To be considered for this Packaging and Graphics Technologist job you will also have a background in packaging and graphics processes and have managed complex, high value, multidisciplinary projects. Knowledge of process excellence training as well as experience within the Pharmaceutical or related industry would also be advantageous.

A Technical Sales Manager is required to join the Commercial facilities team of a niche specialist within the Polymer Chemical industry based in Bedfordshire, UK.

This Technical Sales Manager job is initially on an ongoing long term basis (approx 6-12 months+), with a strong possibility of going permanent.

As Technical Sales Director, you will join the Senior Management Team and will report directly to the Managing Director (MD). You will be responsible for new business development, marketing and contract negotiation surrounding their range of carbon black based materials.

As the organization is in its infancy, this Technical Sales Manager role will entail mainly new business development within the Carbon Black, Oil & Gas, Rubber and other related Chemical and/or Polymer based industries.

Process Development Technologist Required for Leading Food Manufacturing company based in Leicester, UK

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company, is currently seeking to recruit a Process Development Technologist to work with them at their site in Leicester on a temporary basis for a period of 3 months.

This Process Development Technologist role will involve being responsible for coordinating the manufacture of products from kitchen concept into factory within the commercial criteria signed off by the customer. Key departments this role will be involved with will include Operations, Engineering, Technical, Procurement, Planning, Commercial and NPD therefore communication and teamwork are key for this role.

Key responsibilities of this Process Development Technologist role will include:

  • Attend product handover meetings to understand and challenge, where necessary, product attributes.
  • Provide details of necessary quality standards for new products (including product life) ready for customer technologist sign-off.
  • Completion of written and photographic standards for customer and operational areas
  • Prepare scale-up recipes.
  • Provide required packaging details to enable generation of keylines.
  • Manage the ordering of new raw materials and packaging onto site.
  • Effectively carry out and co-ordinate each stage of required factory trial programmes.
  • Run pre-production trials with the customer in attendance.
  • Send all required samples throughout the development process to the customer, as necessary.

The ideal candidate for this Process Development Technologist role will be educated to degree/HND level, or equivalent, in a food related discipline and have detailed knowledge of food manufacturing processes and experience in a high care chilled environment. Previous experience with M&S as a customer, an understanding of the underlying fundamentals of food processing specifically in the chilled food category as well as dough/pastry/batter knowledge would also be ideal but not essential.
