CK Group launch new website today

The new CK Group site, which is live as of today, merges our four recruitment divisions and our Real World Evidence CRO together for the first time using our fresh new branding. The site and brand has been designed to reflect the core purpose of the business ‘to be the best provider of staffing and outsourcing services to the science and technology community’.

The new website will provide a gateway to current and potential clients to gain a greater understanding of the services we provide and the quality of service we aim to deliver.

Released in time to celebrate our 25th year in life science recruitment, the website highlights how far the organisation has come. Since it was established in 1991 by Ashley Kirk and Liam O’Connell the company has been committed to forming a strong, original, visual impression, starting with our first logo.

With an innovative Senior Management Team at the helm who are prepared to challenge the market place and invest in the future, the CK brand has been able to evolve to reflect the values of the business. So it is with great excitement we release our new brand and website

CK Managing Director’s Charity Bike Ride!

Our Managing Director, Jonathan Hart-Smith, has recently completed a 100 mile bike ride for charity.

Jon rode with several others in aid of Demelza Children’s Hospice, which provides children and their families the opportunity to spend time together doing a range of activities for all ages that they may not have been able to access otherwise. The hospice also provides support in what can often be an isolating time for many families.

The route taken by Jon, which follows the Olympic route from 2012 and traverses Box Hill amongst others, had some “fantastic sights,” alongside a fair amount of drama. One of the members of the group Jon was with came off his bicycle at 35mph, before using his shoulder and head as a brake. Luckily, no major injuries were sustained and the ride was completed with a few bumps, bruises and one significant headache!

A few celebrities also joined the group, cycling for their own charities, amongst those were Location, Location, Location’s Phil Spencer. Jon is pleased to say he has reached his fundraising target and is looking forward to his next challenge!

REC Reveals Ways to Fill Skilled Work Vacancies

Operations Director Liam O’Connell has recently attended an REC Skills Summit in London, which was intended to explain the disconnect between those out of work and the vacancies in many areas that could be filled.

The Summit brought together many from across a wide range of sectors, including life sciences, engineering and technology, so as to try to address the issues facing them. It is clear from these discussions that there is a significant skills gap, with many employers predicting these issues to continue for the near future.

To combat these problems, the REC have come up with a variety of methods, from investments in skills training by businesses, to apprenticeships created thanks to government policy. The apprenticeship policy seems as though it would be most effective, as around a quarter of employers said that they did not hire young people due to lack of skills or experience. It is necessary to train these young people in order to ensure that the skills are there in the future, rather than seeing the gap widen further.

Here at CK, we are extremely proud to have such a rich pool of internal talent that will continue to provide you with an even more polished specialist recruitment service. In fact, one of the key reasons for the merger was to make the best use of the skills of our senior management team and to offer further training to staff. “I am genuinely excited when I say that this is a great opportunity for our clients both old and new to receive a consistent quality service from the one company and the CK brand.”

Please note, that as a result of the merger, CK Science and CK Clinical will retain these trading names and the group will be known as the CK Group. The corporate entity will retain the CK Associates Ltd name.
