The CK Science Head Office Recruitment Team Expands

Due to their continued success, CK Science, the UK’s leading specialist scientific and engineering recruitment consultancy, welcomed two new specialist scientific recruitment consultants to their Head Office team this week.

Hannah Milward – Temporary Recruitment at CK Science, Chesterfield

Hannah Milward, has joined the CK Science Head Office in Chesterfield and will be focusing on temporary recruitment for the science and engineering industries. Hannah graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a Bsc Honours in Food and Nutrition. During her course, Hannah spent her Industrial Placement Year working for Northern Foods, where, for the first six months, she worked in Quality Assurance, and for the remaining six months she worked in Technical Development.

Hannah has recently passed her probation at CK Science. On passing her probation, her Manager, Russell Oakley stated, “Hannah has been successful in passing her probationary period with CK Science.  She has taken the Chesterfield temp section by the scruff of it’s neck and given it the shake up it needed, with 6 placements in the space of 3 months!!!!  She has also shown great promise with her ability to consult with both client and candidates at such an early stage in her recruitment career.  I am confident this will continue and I’m sure Hannah will develop her section into a extremely profitable asset for the Chesterfield office!”

Naynesh Mistry – Permanent Recruitment for the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Food Industries at CK Science, Chesterfield

Naynesh joined the CK Science Head Office this week and will be focusing on permanent recruitment for the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Food Industries. Naynesh has always wanted to get into recruitment and his interests include tennis coaching, football and learning to cook (although he says this is more of a challenge than an interest!).

Speaking of Naynesh’s arrival to CK Science, his Manager Russell Oakley stated,  “The Chesterfield recruitment team are really pleased to have Naynesh on board in the Chesterfield office.  We have been really busy over recent weeks and Naynesh is a much needed addition to the team, bringing inside industry knowledge and enthusiasm to the team.  We are confident Naynesh will develop into a successful consultant and we all wish him well in his new role.”

New Head Office for CK

On the 7th February 2008 Phil Abrahams, Director of Customer Services at the Royal Society of Chemistry will officially open the new offices of CK Associates in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

The move into new corporate headquarters represents a major step forward for the rapidly expanding group that has benefited from the emergence of new technologies and a more mobile workforce. Established in 1991 CK Associates are leaders in the field of scientific and engineering recruitment for the chemical, pharmaceutical, environmental and food processing industries.

The CK Associates group consists of CK Science, CK Clinical and CK First Step – who deal with the recruitment of industrial placement students. The company was founded by Ashley Kirk and Liam O’Connell who both have considerable experience as senior managers in the scientific and engineering industries.

“We recognised that it was increasingly difficult to find and recruit high calibre candidates” explained Liam O’Connell, “Here was an opportunity to provide a valuable service to the hard-pressed Human Resources people in our industry”.

Since then the business and gone from strength to strength and CK Associates, though its group companies, place over 800 candidates a year in the UK, Europe, Middle East and South Africa. It now has three offices across the UK and a turnover of £10m+

“The industry has become much more technology based, and with a lot of the heavy chemical industry having moved to India and China companies have to be more flexible, fast reacting and willing to embrace new technologies – that’s where we come in” enthused Liam. “We find candidates with the right skills and experience, often at short notice, to help clients make those changes”.

The move to the prestigious new offices reflects the success the company is enjoying and provides a platform for future expansion, but why Chesterfield?

“A fairly central location was always going to be important, clients are all across the UK and further afield so good transport links are important, plus here we have the room to expand”
