Victoria Walker is currently looking to recruit a OLEDs Scientist to join a supplier of materials for OLED optoelectronic devices, to join their team based in East Yorkshire.
The company has been developing materials for use in optoelectronic devices, focusing on OLED displays and is now seeking a talented Materials Physicist / Engineer to join their team. This OLEDs Scientist role will involve frequent travel to the North East and an eventual move to the North East site after approximately 1 year.
The main roles and responsibilities of this OLEDs Scientist role will be to characterise and test the materials produced by the team of chemists and to provide feedback and understanding of their performance. The candidate will be responsible for, and will take a leading role in:
- Building and testing prototype devices,
- Developing improved characterisation and fabrication procedures
- Correlating material and device data.
The successful candidate will also liaise with customers and collaborators directly.
Qualifications and Skills:
In order to be considered for this OLEDs Scientist position you will have experience of OLED device construction and testing; an essential requirement for this role. You will also have a background in polymer / materials science, plastic electronics and practical engineering capability.
A PhD or equivalent in Physics, Materials or a related discipline would be advantageous. The candidate needs to be self-motivated and customer focused with excellent problem solving, organisational and communication skills. Key knowledge areas and abilities will be a strong working knowledge of:
- OLED devices, physics and manufacture; experience in materials testing
- A proactive approach and able to work independently
- Experience of designing experiments
- Experimental procedures and data acquisition and interpretation.
