This week we caught up with Sarah Farrow. Sarah is a Senior Consultant II and has been with the company since the start of 2013.
We asked Sarah a few questions to get to know more about her and her role here at CK:
What was your background before joining CK?
“I did a degree in Biotechnology, with an industrial placement in formulations for Fairy Activeburst at P&G. I then went on to become a Science Training Coordinator for 2 years, teaching biology, chemistry and physics as well as organising work experience placements for students before I moved into recruitment. I then worked for another recruitment company for science industry based roles before moving to CK in 2013”.
What area of the business do you work in now?
“I am based in the Durham office and work on permanent roles in both science and engineering, covering the North East of England and Scotland”.
What industries do you cover?
“I used to work across all the science industries but now I focus mainly on the dirty end of science such as the chemical, waste, materials, and oil and gas sectors whilst still retaining some key clients in pharmaceutical and life sciences”.
What types of candidates do you recruit for?
“Analytical Chemists, R&D Chemists (formulations, synthetic, polymer etc), Process Engineers, Technical Managers, Materials Scientists… I’ll look at anything though, and have historically worked supply chain/logistics/manufacturing.”
What is your proudest accomplishment since working at CK?
“My candidates seem to be sending me presents at the moment, which is awesome. It’s always nice getting a candidate their perfect job after building a relationship with them over a long time”
Describe your best ever client visit?
“I went to a brewery. They make beer!”
Thank you, Sarah, for taking the time to tell us about what you do.
