London’s life sciences industry received a boost as a US company invested £750,000 into a healthcare accelerator fund, reports the Evening Standard.
The US investment firm, Sandbox Industries, launched Healthbox, to give 10 entrepreneurs £75,000 and links to healthcare professionals, investors, retailers, office space and links to the NHS. The enterprise is backed by Bupa and Serco, which runs blood testing laboratories, with mentors coming from across the healthcare professions.
