Synthetic Organic Chemist - Herts
Julie Marshall at CK Science is recruiting for a Synthetic Organic Chemist on behalf of our client, a global Pharmaceutical company to be based in the Hertfordshire region.
A very good degree or equivalent in chemistry and a PhD or equivalent industrial experience in organic chemistry is required. Broad knowledge of practical organic chemistry and current synthetic methodology is essential, as shown by a track record of route design and problem solving. Exceptional personal synthetic productivity is essential. Evidence of applying innovative synthetic chemistry to solve problems is required. You should have a track record of peer reviewed publications based predominantly on your own work and a record of presenting at scientific meetings is also expected.
This role is predominantly to pioneer new synthetic routes in lead optimisation programmes & prepare compounds for biological testing. Stereochemically controlled syntheses are likely to be required for series with multiple chiral centres and to open up new areas for synthesis to develop structure activity relationships. Considerable resources will be at your disposal to enhance your efficiency and effectiveness.
This role is a completely lab and practically based role for a Synthetic Organic Chemist carrying out experimental work within medicinal chemistry programmes and teams. The successful candidate can also, if desired, develop their medicinal chemistry skills within the programme. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively and to constructively influence syntheses carried out by team members. These characteristics should reflect good communication skills and an ability to work towards a common goal in a team.This is an excellent opportunity to join a global Pharmaceutical company in the Hertfordshire region.
