Synthetic Organic Chemist - Hertfordshire
Julie at CK Group is recruiting for a Synthetic Organic Chemist to join a multi-national company in the Pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Hertfordshire on a contract basis for 6 months which may be extendable.

Location: This role is located in Stevenage which has excellent commuting links to London (30 minutes) and the North. A mixture of new and old, the town has an abundance of history and social activities, restaurants, bars, cinema complex and leisure park.
Working in an API Chemistry Department, the main purpose of the role will be to:
- Be involved in a late phase project on the design of optimal syntheses of new drug candidates, capable of operation at full scale manufacture.
- Assist with the development and evaluation of these chemical processes with regard to safety, economy, quality, health and environmental impact to ensure reproducibility, reliability and sustainability.
- Conduct practical synthetic organic chemistry with high attention to detail.
In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:MSc/PhD in a relevant area of Synthetic Organic Chemistry. Your synthetic experience may have been broadened by a 6-12 month research project in industry or academia. You will have a detailed understanding of practical Synthetic Organic Chemistry and relevant literature.
This position will require proven problem solving skills and a demonstrated track record of innovation. It will involve working within a multidisciplinary environment and you should be able to demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to work in a team. A basic understanding of drug discovery and development is preferred.
