Matthew Sullivan at CK Science is recruiting for a Shift Chemist to join a busy analytical laboratory, testing various oils and gases, in Essex on a permanent basis.

The role would be a shift position, on a 10 week rota, involving 2 weeks of early starts, 6 weeks of day shifts, and 2 weeks of the late start.

In this position you would be testing various oils/fuels using a wide range of analytical techniques, such as GC, HPLC, XRF and more basic wet chemistry. Full training is provided, but previous experience of working in a laboratory setting is essential for this position.

To be considered for the position you will ideally be qualified to degree level, or have equivalent experience in chemistry or a related subject. You must have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work as a team. Experience of Oil, Gas, or other Chemical analysis encompassing a broad spectrum of methods and analysis. You will possess effective interpersonal, team working and organisational skills. Knowledge and experience of process management and chemical optimisation would be beneficial.
