Naynesh Mistry has an exciting opportunity and is recruiting for a experienced Senior Scientist/Production Manager with a background within the Life Science/Biotechnology/Medical Device sector, to join a leading specialised medical diagnostic company based in Birmingham on a permanent basis. Our client engages in the research, development, manufacture, and distribution of immunodiagnostic assays for the laboratory market.

The successful candidate should be capable of the management of on-going projects and staff, and to take the initiative to design and implement experiments and alternative procedures. They will also need to come with experience within the following areas:

  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Root Cause investigation experience.
  • Significant ELISA experience.
  • Project Management experience.

The Role: The primary duty is to manage a team of scientific staff to deliver product improvements, root cause investigation and new product development in the ELISA area. This will involve working on multiple projects at the same time.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for managing and training a team responsible for the development of ELISA immunoassays.
  • Involve formal line management and associated administrative and coaching tasks, work checking etc.

You:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Degree or equivalent in biological sciences or similar.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Root cause investigation experience.
  • Extensive laboratory experience of developing and running ELISA assays.
  • Direct experience developing ELISA assays (coating of ELISA plates, running ELISA, Interpretation of ELISA data).
  • Project management.
  • Line and staff management ability.

DESIRABLE:

  • Development of clinical assays, tech transfer and design control.
