CK Group are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Senior Research Associate with experience in immunology, cell or molecular biology to join an innovative Immuno-oncology company in Waltham. The successful candidate will play a critical role for the company with as they strive to bring novel therapies to patients faced with currently intractable cancers.

As an integral member of the company's growing research team, this individual will play a vital role in the discovery efforts for their earlier-stage programs, the single cell genomics-based target ID & Validation platform and advancing their pipeline toward the clinic.

This Senior Research Associate role will be on a full time, permanent basis located in Waltham, MA.

Responsibilities willinclude:

  • Isolation, culture and phenotypic characterization of primary human immune cells
  • Preparation of human tumor samples for single cell RNA sequencing using tumor dissociation and sorting methodologies such as FACS and MACS
  • Ex vivo phenotypic profiling of isolated tumor and immune cells from human patients, as well as pre-clinical model species.
  • Development and execution of cell-based assays to investigate functional consequence of target gene perturbation (CRISPR k/o; shRNA; exogenous expression), as well as pharmacological modulation (effect of antibody; recombinant protein treatment)
  • Key readouts include phenotypic changes as determined by FACS, QPCR, WB; cytokine ELISA
  • Generation of k/o and target gene overexpressing cell lines

Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. in immunology, cell or molecular biology or related discipline with experience, preferably in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting
  • Experience in developing assays to interrogate immune-modulatory effects of target gene perturbation and/or antibody treatment (i.e. multi-color FACS, cytokine assays in the context of primary immune cell cultures/co-cultures
  • Experience with mammalian tissue culture, cell line and propagation
  • Experience with tumorsample processing, culture and growth of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes highly desired.
  • Experience with NGS library preparation highly desired.
  • Experience in FACS based cell sorting a plus, but not required
  • Experience with cell-based functional assays (proliferation, signal transduction, other reporter assays) a plus, but not required
