Senior Research Associate, Antibody Engineering and Discovery
CK Science is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to join a growing research team with the mission to serve patients with intractable cancers. This role is critical-path for the company and will have alarge impact internally.
The successful candidate for this position will be an integral member of the company's growing research team. You will play a critical role both in advancing our lead antibody program toward the clinic as well as with discovery efforts on our earlier-stage programs. You will work closely with experienced scientists in a fast-paced and dynamic research environment.
This role will be on a full time, permanent basis located in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities will include:
- Design and construct antibody libraries
- Manage and conduct yeast display campaigns to identify and optimize antibodies with desired properties
- Characterize antibody clones using techniques such as flow cytometry
- Collect and analyzedata from selections and present findings in group and project team meetings
- Design and clone mammalian expression constructs for antibodies including using Benchling for sequence verification, storage, and notebook entries.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to technology and antibody discovery platform development
- Document work in a timely fashion in electronic lab notebook
Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. in molecular biology, biochemistry, protein chemistry or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years experience, preferably in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting
- Experience in antibody discovery, e.g. engineering, expression, and/or characterization of antibodies and proteins in general
- Expertise in molecular biology and molecular biology concepts, e.g. primer design, PCR, Gibson assembly, and bacterial transformation
- Experience with phage or yeast display strongly preferred
- Experience with protein expression systems (bacterial and mammalian e.g. CHO and HEK) beneficial but not required
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to independently execute against goals
- Team player, eager to learn and develop new skills, and capable of adapting to a dynamic research environment
