Scientific Project Manager - Melbourn
CK Group is recruiting for a Scientific Project Manager to join a company in the Pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Melbourn, Cambridgeshire on a contract basis for 12 months.
The Company: Our client is a global pharmaceutical company with a large presence and multiple sites in the UK. They produce innovative medicines across a range of therapeutic areas to enhance the health and lives of their patients.
The Location: Located within the South East of England in Melbourn. Melbourn is a large village in the far south west of Cambridgeshire. It is located next to the A10 just north of Royston.
The Role: The Scientific Project Manager will support the growing data, informatics and analytics capabilities of the Centre for Genomics Research. This will be part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating efforts related to the centre's growing and evolving informatics and data analytics capabilities. You will work alongside bioinformaticians, genome analysts and software scientists to ensure that project activities are aligned to deliver the expected business value within agreed timelines.
- Coordinate the delivery of genome informatics and analytics projects.
- Contribute to project planning and prioritisation.
- Supporting the preparation of research findings for internal and external scientific communication.
- Ensuring own work, and work of team, is compliant with internal company standards and external regulations.
Your Background: To succeed in this role, you will be able to understand complex scientific problems and break them down into manageable work packages, prioritise & problem-solve and perform difficult tasks while under pressure. You will ideally have previous experience working with patients' data in a regulated, clinical research environment (incl. but not limited to EU privacy regulations, informed consent, Good Clinical Practice). Any experience with JIRA or other project management and requirement tracking system would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will also have experience developing and deploying data analytics solutions in pharmaceutical environment.
