CK Group are recruiting for a QC Analyst to work within a Quality Control Laboratory for a leading pharmaceutical organisation that develop and manufacture veterinary products. The QC Analyst will be working on site in Dundee on a contract basis for6 months. This client is offering an excellent opportunity for career development to Chemists who are keen to gain experience in a globally recognised organisation.

QC Analyst Role:

The main purpose of your role as QC Analyst will be to:- Follow analytical methods and perform quality control analysis on pharmaceutical raw materials, intermediates and final products.

  • Use a range of analytical instrumentation including HPLC and GC.
  • Carry out analytical development and validation on new and existing methods.
  • Adhere to cGMP principles.

Your Background:

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Degree in a Chemistry related subject or relevant industrial experience.
  • Experience working in a Quality Control laboratory.
  • Familiar with cGMP requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience of health & safety in a working laboratory.

INDCONng experiments to measure material adsorption capacity

  • Managing experiments to assess electrochemical efficiency
  • Generate FMEA related data
  • Reactor design and testing such as optimising reactor design and operational process parameters
  • Test reactors with monopolar and bipolar cell designs, and test alternative electrode materials
  • Graphite manufacture/ synthesis and formulation development
  • Present technical progress and timing against delivery targets

Your Background: Theideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience: Essential:

  • Proven hands on experience gained working with graphite - essential
  • BSc or MSc degree (or equivalent) from a materials science or chemistry background
  • Expertise with surface science/ surface engineering/ surface chemistry of graphite including adsorption -essential
  • Excellent knowledge of heterogenous catalysis and organic chemistry
  • Experience of managing high level R&D projects and of workingin multidisciplinary teams The following would be advantageous:

  • Good knowledge and experience of materials synthesis and development

  • Basic knowledge of electrochemistry (cyclic voltammetry, Impedance spectroscopy)
  • Electrochemical device testing (polarisation curve)
  • Knowledge of graphene
  • Good knowledge of oxidation mechanism for organics
