QC Analyst
CK Group are recruiting for a QC Analyst to join a chemical company at their site based in Northwich on a permanent basis. The role offers a salary of £25,000 per annum depending on experience.
The Company: Our client is a multinational manufacturer and distributor of biocides, flame retardants, personal care ingredients and other speciality chemicals.
QC Analyst Role: Your main duties will be:
- To provide analysis the company’s products and ensure that all testing results reported by the Quality Control Laboratory are accurate, consistent and reported in a timely manner.
- To provide the manufacturing & production plant with technical analytical services and support.
- To follow operating procedures as instructed by the company quality procedures specifically OP 040, 060, 070, 080.
- To provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of raw materials, finished products and in process materials using a range of analytical techniques.
- To sample raw materials / Finished Goods according to safe procedures in order to undertake the required analysis.
- To provide evaluation and testing of new and alternative raw materials.
- To facilitate extensions to product shelf life after re-testing.
- To aid with investigations and actions into non-conforming goods/ products.
- To provide effluent analysis in line with company environmental procedures.
- To assist for ensuring all Quality Control Laboratory equipment is maintained correctly and kept fully functioningto ensure the accuracy of results.
- To calibrate and maintain records for all Quality Control Laboratory equipment.
- To assist for reviewing and updating new qualitative and quantitative testing methods used for Quality Control purposes.
- Torecommend/ initiate improvements in Quality Control procedures, analytical methods or other processes as required. Ensuring that any changes or updates are documented and methods updated accordingly.
- To liaise with production staff to solve and prevent production problems and to facilitate ongoing and continuous improvement of products and processes.
- To undertake the procurement of consumables and equipment required to complete laboratory duties.
- To complete internal audits to ensure compliance with internal company procedures, management systems and legal compliance.
Your Background: The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Degree level qualification in Chemistry or closely related scientific discipline.
- Preference of 1-2 years of previous Quality Control Laboratory based work experience.
- Practical & working knowledge of analytical qualitative & quantitative test methods including Karl Fischer, HPLC, particle size determination, physical testing techniques(including determination of solids, RI, SG etc.) & titrimetric analytical techniques.
- Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential
