Julie Marshall at CK Science is recruiting for a Process Microbiologist to join a Quality and Validation Team within the Pharmaceutical industry in Sussex on a contract basis until December 2015.

The main purpose of the role will be to:

Ensure the continuous delivery of the manufacturing facilities and maintain a compliant and safe manufacturing environment and help to ensure a consistent supply of product to the customer. Take ownership of Process Simulations and other production-based validation activities. Integration of validation activities into the production schedule. Take ownership of Airflow Visualisation Studies. Present during audits and able to present and defend complex issues. Ensure full compliance with Quality requirements. Assist investigation of microbiological issues pertaining to plant systems. Perform/assist with other requalification requirements e.g chemical sanitisation, moist heat sterilisation, irradiation and depyrogenation.

Further responsibilities will include:

Directing the work of others to achieve specific objectives or tasks. You may be responsible for assembling and leading teams within own specialism to solve problems and conduct Process Simulations and Airflow Visualisation Studies. Initiate and own small to medium scale improvement projects. Responsible for the identification of GMP gaps and take ownership of actions associated with them.

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

Microbiology or scientific degree/experience (or equivalent) with relevant aseptic manufacturing experience preferred. Excellent technical understanding and organisational skills, and an ability to work effectively with others at all levels. You will have the ability to operate as part of a team, to challenge existing practice and be prepared to take a leading role with respect to continuous improvement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. An understanding of Regulatory, Technical & Safety Standards. Six Sigma Training to Advocate level desirable.
