CK Group are working in partnership with Avacta to recruit for a Principal Protein Scientist to join them at their state of tffimer® bio-therapeutics to meet the growing demand for the next generation of drugs that will compete with monoclonal antibon protease inhibitor Stefin A. Key benefits of the Affimer technology are its small size, ease of formatting, high expressiondrug chemotherapeutics (pre|CISION™ and TMAC™) that can be used as mono- or as combination therapies for the treatment of a wy to Whittlesford Parkway station, in state-of-the-art laboratories, offering an exciting and innovative environment where yoscientists, you will be responsible for:

  • Mentoring and line managing members of the protein team and approval of SOPs
  • Pation of Affimers for protein characterisation work, binding studies and stability testing using microbial and mammalian exprased assays from a range of expression platforms and fully characterising them using a range of methods, including HPLC, SDS-technologies (eg, as Fc-fusions).
  • Carrying out optimisation studies to increase Affimer yield
  • Developing bench scalele
  • Carrying out accelerated and real time stability studies on Affimers and characterising changes that may occur
  • Estatool molecules for pre-clinical studies
  • Producing and characterising mutated Affimer scaffolds to improve biophysical propfor the position you should have the following skills and expertise:
  • PhD level in protein biochemistry, protein engineerindustry
  • Experience with standard protein production techniques and development of multistage chromatography separations foallenging projects – with a disruptive, cutting edge technology.
