Jason Johal is recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join a fast growing and innovative technology company with a wide range of sophisticated, patent-protected products and services used in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, life science and defence industries. This is a permanent role based in Hampshire and offers an excellent salary up to £23,000 and a good benefits package.

The Role: The company has seen substantial growth in the Consumable part of the business and as such they require a Laboratory Technician to assist with their Biological Indicator, Chemical Indicator and Peroxide Consumables production. Working to the required Quality Standards, you will assist with the production of Biological/Chemical Indicators and Peroxide Consumables, including but not limited to Product production, Final product testing, Aseptic techniques and Media manufacture. You will follow SOPs, ensure that Quality Control is maintained, assist with the maintenance of laboratory equipment including Calibrations and Preventative Maintenance, ensure that all products produced are to allocated quantities and deadlines and are in compliance with the Quality Management System and support the Consumables Manager with development projects/department investigations as required.

Your Background:

  • You will be a highly self-motivated, proactive, energetic and enthusiastic team player who is able to work in a multi-disciplinary team and you will have a genuine interest in microbiology and/or chemistry.
  • Experience of in one or more of the following is essential; Microbiology, Biotechnology, Cell Culture, working with airborne pathogens or working with diseases.
  • The ability to work with automated systems and machines and to work to deadlines is also required.

You will hold an A-Level, HND or HNC in a Life Science subject or equivalent and recent hands-on laboratory experience would be an advantage.
