Barney Smith at CK Science is recruiting for a scientist experienced in Agriculture and Crop Development to lead the commercial breeding function of a well established and successful crop research institute on a permanent basis.

In this role you will be the focal point for all technical aspects of crop breeding, plant trials, customer queries and reports, development strategy and planning and overall management, planning and scheduling. You will also be responsible for training of staff, budget management and management of resources.

For this role, you must be qualified to minimum degree level in an agricultural or chemistry based subject or possess equivalent experience and have a proven track record in managing commercial trials of commercial crops, ideally potato, cereal or soft fruit whether it be in crop breeding, agronomy, pest resistance, fertilisers or supply chain and overall coordination.
