Formulation Scientist - Hertfordshire
Julie Marshall at CK Science is recruiting for a Formulation Scientist to join a global company in the Pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Hertfordshire on a contract basis for 12 months.
The main purpose of the role will be to
Identify formulation and process risks during product development and implementing experimental strategies to obtain fundamental understanding and mitigate risks during adoption and scale-out of continuous manufacturing processes. Collaborate closely with colleagues in Product Development to develop robust continuous manufacturing processes and on- line monitoring systems (real time release). Design and run technical trials to demonstrate equipment capabilities and limitations. Focus on continuous blending, granulation (wet and dry), compression/filling and coating as appropriate. (The role will also provide technical support to tactical opportunities to adopt continuous secondary technologies in the commercial portfolio.)
In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
PhD + 2 years or MS +3 years of relevant experience in the development of pharmaceutical formulations (ideally oral solid dosage forms) and analogous manufacturing processes. You will have operation knowledge of laboratory and plant equipment and working knowledge of GMP requirements. It is preferred you have industrial or academic experience in developing continuous secondary manufacturing processes. An understanding of material science and powder processing would be beneficial.
