CK Group is recruiting for a Cell Biologist to join a company in the pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire on a contract basis for 12 months.

The Location: This role is located in Stevenage which has excellent commuting links to London (30 minutes) and the North. A mixture of new and old, the town has an abundance of history and social activities, restaurants, bars, cinema complex and leisure park.

The Role:

You will be working within a Cell & Gene Therapy Product Development Group who are responsible for delivering the Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) aspects of the projects from early phase to launch and the development of innovative improvements to the design and manufacture of cell and gene therapy medicines.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work within the Cell Line Development team which is responsible for developing processes for and delivering stable transfected mammalian cell lines for the manufacturing of clinical grade vectors for gene therapy.

You will be responsible for:

  • Cell Culture.
  • Improving processes.
  • Cell Optimisation.
  • Following GMP procedures.

Your Background:

  • PhD/MSc (or equivalent) with previous laboratory experience gained from working in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry is preferred.
  • You will have extensive practical experience in mammalian cell biology or virology.
  • Experience in cell line development and conducting cell-based assays would be an advantage.
