Antibody Scientist - Hertfordshire
Julie Marshall at CK Science is recruiting for an Antibody Scientist to join a global company in the Pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Hertfordshire on a contract basis until December 2015.
The main purpose of the role will be to:Identify, screen and characterise antibodies for the purpose of delivering therapeutic antibody leads. Review, assimilate and communicate new information effectively and rapidly develop confidence and expertise in new scientific areas. Use SPR instruments (Biacore, Fortebio, Proteon) for determination of association, dissociation and affinity constant values.
In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
PhD or equivalent experience in life science is required with a background of identifying, screening and characterising antibodies for the purpose of delivering therapeutic antibody leads, either in academia or in the biotech-pharmaceutical industry. You will have an excellent understanding of monoclonal antibodies and their general protein biochemistry. You will have high level expertise in the design of immunoassays, analysis of results and troubleshooting data. Demonstrable practical experience in the routine use of SPR based instrumentation with multiple techniques (antibody binding, antibody kinetics determination, antibody relative epitope mapping) in screening panels of antibodies. You will possess a proactive attitude, excellent organisational skills, be highly motivated to learn new skills and good record keeping are essential.
