Naynesh Mistry at CK Group is recruiting for a Account Manager (central regions), to join an independent world class manufacturer and supplier of microbiology and diagnostic products for clinical, industrial and veterinary testing, on a permanent basis. Our client is based in Bootle, Merseyside, however this role will cover Central England and can be field/home based. Applicants must be based on territory, and willing to travel as this sales area covers a large geographical area (Milton Keynes up to Newcastle upon Tyne). The role will require, at times, overnight stays. You will be provided with company car, laptop/tablet, mobile phone.

The Company: Our client has over 60 years experience at the fore front of medical expertise. Originally founded to manufacture antibiotic sensitivity test discs their product range has greatly expanded over the years, and they now supply a huge variety of customers in hospital, private clinical, public health and veterinary laboratories as well as blood banks, food and water testing facilities and pharmaceutical companies.

My client are looking to recruit a Sales professional to build up their sales of existing products and to help with the launch of their exciting new ranges.

The ideal candidate would be an experienced Biomedical Scientist, microbiologist, or scientist with a life science discipline such as molecular biology. They would possess a good understanding of in-vitro diagnostic products, and practical experience of working in a laboratory environment, ideally within a clinical environment.

You will also possess a strong business development approach to identifying market opportunities, a good understanding of NHS procurement processes and the empathy to strengthen our existing good customer relationships.

Purpose and Objective: To achieve the volume and profit objectives for a designated product portfolio, within a specified sales territory, with the aim of assisting the company achieve its overall sales and profitability targets, delivering year on year sales and profit growth.

Your Background:

  • Degree in Science, Clinical Microbiology, Biology, or equivalent
  • Good understanding of clinical laboratory diagnostic methodologies - practical experience of working in a microbiology laboratory an advantage.
  • Ideally experience in selling to the UK hospital laboratory diagnostic market.
  • Experience in responding to and winning formal tenders an advantage.
  • Experience in key/major accounts management/development an advantage.
