This week we are recruiting for a Senior LCMS Scientist and an LCMS Bioanalysis Scientist to join a sport and specialised analytical services company that provides a range of contract analytical services. We have chosen both of these roles as the job of the week because:

The jobs:

Senior LCMS Scientist:

  • Offers a salary of £32,000 – £38,000
  • The role sits within a project based team, developing, validating and running analytical methods across a variety of matrices via the use of a number of instrumental techniques, including chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • The role will also involve evaluation of new and existing technologies, interaction with clients, interpretation of scientific data, production of comprehensive scientific reports and presentation of data to internal and external audiences
  • Experience in working in an analytical chemistry laboratory
  • Experience of chromatographic techniques i.e. HPLC, LC/MS and ability to problem solve
  • Degree in chemistry or related subject (or equivalent)

LCMS Bioanalysis Scientist 

  • Offers a salary of £21,000 – £28,000
  • Involved in the development, validation and application of bioanalytical methods for use in drug development services and the majority of the methods developed are qualitative and quantitative analyses of drugs, biomarkers and clinical markers in biological fluids, predominately blood plasma and urine.
  • The development and validation of quantitative LC/MS/MS methods for the analysis of drugs and metabolites in biological matrices and the application of these methods to routine analysis of samples from pre-clinical and clinical studies
  • Experience in working in an analytical chemistry laboratory and with chromatographic techniques i.e. HPLC, LC-MS etc. is essential
  • Familiarity with quantitative LC/MS/MS analysis, particularly Sciex instruments and the ability to work with minimum supervision is preferred
