The UK chemical industries are responsible for contributing 1.5% of the country’s GDP and has an estimated turnover of £56.8 billion for 2015. Having grown by 3% on average over the past few years, and with chemical research and development having seen a 10% growth in the last 10 years, it has been classified as a priority sector for the UK Government.

It currently supplies 9500 chemicals across the world, making it the UK’s top exporter. As a result of this surge in growth it is now attracting foreign investment from the likes of China, Japan and India.

Currently employing 214,000 people in the UK alone, the chemical industries offer a vast and diverse range of career opportunities for those looking for an interesting and challenging working life.
