Our client a biotechnology company located in the Central Belt of Scotland require a QC Analyst on a temporary basis.

As a QC Analyst you will carry out chemical testing in accordance with approved methods (including HPLC, FTIR, GC) and in compliance with GMP. You should have a suitable qualification in chemistry and be competent in using techniques such as HPLC, GC and FTIR ideally gained within an industrial environment. The role is initially temporary but there is a likelihood it will be extended or made permanent.

Materials Test Engineer – Coatings, W. Midlands, UK

Our client, a rubbers, plastics and composites consultancy based in the West Midlands, are currently looking to recruit a Materials Test Engineer to test and analyse their coatings products amongst other materials.

The main roles and responsibilities of this Materials Test Engineer will be to prepare proposals and reports on the testing and testing methods of the materials. You will assist with project planning and implementation and will provide technical expertise to clients and customers where required. Working closely with the Sales and Consultancy teams, you will assist in the development of new test methods and will perform physical testing on a variety of samples. You will also help maintain the lab’s UKAS accreditation.

To be considered for this Materials Test Engineer position, you will be educated to degree level (or similar) in materials or polymer science or will have proven knowledge of the materials testing industry within an industrial setting. Able to demonstrate mechanical and material problem solving as well as physical testing of materials, you will ideally be aware of the design and installation of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical or electrical systems. The overall job purpose includes:

  • To ensure a high level Master Production Schedule (MPS) is developed for assigned product(s) to meet customer requirements.
  • To ensure inventory is effectively managed.
  • To support key supply chain projects which will have an impact on strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of this Master Scheduler position will include:

• Design and maintain a 24 month Master Production schedule for assigned products to ensure fulfilment of customer demands. (Monthly activity)

• Liaise with a wide variety of internal and external work centres e.g. Production, labs, QA, warehouse to obtain buy in to schedule. Communicate the plan to all levels of the organisation.

• Drive performance improvements and be responsible for OSSCE Class A performance for assigned products

• Manage changes in demand and drive resolution of capacity constraints within the work centres.

• Manage inventory levels

• Provide technical coaching and support to scheduler buyers

• Influence and participate in Site and Global Supply Chain initiatives

• Facilitate market related changes encompassing all aspects of materials, packaging and production changes.

 

Required Experience:

The ideal candidate for this Master Scheduler position will have several years experience in a Pharmaceutical FDA regulated environment. An understanding of Supply Chain and Quality systems is also required.

  • Ability to manage a variety of conflicting demands to meet clearly defined goals
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)

  • Experience in Scheduling/Planning or related function
  • Knowledge of OSSCE processes e.g. MRP

Medical Device Design Engineer Job – Hertfordshire

Our client is looking for a Medical Device Design Engineer who will be able to lead the design of pharmaceutical delivery devices. This Medical Device Design Engineer position will be based in Hertfordshire, UK.

The ideal candidate for this Medical Device Design Engineer will therefore be a senior mechanical design engineer, with experience of medical device design, mechanisms and the detail design of plastic injection moulded components for high-speed assembly.

The candidate will be able to create innovative design solutions and develop these into robust products using CAD (solidWorks, Pro-E), FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and tolerance analysis software. The level of CAD competency will be to an advanced surfacing level with a good understanding of top down design. It will be necessary to have good communication skills in order to both present and review designs with suppliers, customers and team members.
