Axion Polymers Wins Sustainable Technology Award

iStock_000006963239Medium1-150x150As reported by the Environmental Expert, Axion Polymers, the plastics recycling specialist, has won a Sustainable Technology award for its® PS13 – the UK’s first polymer to gain a carbon footprint.

The award was given in the 2010 IChemE Awards and the Sustainable Technology category recognises those projects or processes that demonstrate high innovation in waste reduction, recycling, reuse or the lengthening of product lifecycles.

The IChemE Awards are organised by the Institute of Chemical Engineers and are highly regarded throughout the international chemical, process and biochemical engineering community.

Upon accepting the award, Axion Director, Keith Freegard stated, “We’re thoroughly delighted to win this prestigious award, especially as the IChemE awards celebrate and reward chemical engineering innovation and excellence. As professional chemical engineers, to have our skills recognised by our own industry sector is a particular honour.”
