Naynesh Mistry at CK Science is looking to recruit a Team Leader to join a laboratory services company to work at their site in the North West on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of this Team Leader role will include:

  • To provide the supervised running of the haematology section.
  • To use established methods to analyse samples by automated and manual techniques.
  • To perform differential cell counts and assess cell morphology by microscopy.
  • To evaluate methods, reagents and equipment for use in the haematology section.
  • To assist in the preparation for cytological examination of body fluids and aspirates.
  • To participate in and monitor performance in external and internal quality assurance schemes.
  • To maintain reagent and consumable stocks and their correct storage.
  • To maintain the standard operating procedure manual for haematology.
  • To participate in the training of junior and other members of staff in haematological techniques.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate for this Team Leader role must have a degree or HNC in appropriate subject and Membership of professional organisation. It is essential that the post holder must have a sound working knowledge of haematology with practical laboratory skills and the ability to organise work schedules and analytical methods.

Team Leader Job in the West Midlands

Naynesh Mistry at CK Science is currently recruiting for a Team Leader to join a specialist protein company committed to research, development, manufacture and distribution of innovative immunodiagnostic assays for the laboratory market.

The role:

As Team Leader you lead a multi-disciplinary award winning clinical research group. You will be involved in initiating and organising clinical studies using free light chain and heavy light change analysis.

In addition, your responsibilities will include administration of ongoing studies and paper writing. There will be opportunities to attend relevant meetings and in return, presentations will be expected.

The ideal candidate:

To be considered for this Team Leader position you will have the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • You will be aware of current trends with field of Haematology, B cell malignancies and inflammatory processes and be able to effectively communicate these ideas.
  • The ability to work in a methodical manner and have a proven track record of success in the field of haematology, immunology, biochemistry or a related discipline.
  • Previous line management is essential and evidence of multi-disciplinary team management would be advantageous
  • A PhD in a related discipline (or equivalent)
  • Strong haematological background
  • Proven data interpretation skills
  • Strong publication track record
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and Presentation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • To be self-motivated and have a methodical approach
  • Skilled in statistical analysis, assay development, biochemistry techniques

Analytical Development Scientist Jobs – Herts/London

We are currently recruiting for Analytical Development Scientists to join a global pharma company in Hertfordshire.

Based within a Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry group, you will be responsible for executing and planning analytical programmes including the completion of analytical assignments involving formulated and unformulated pharmaceutical substances to be used in clinical and preclinical studies.

Working under the broad guidance of your supervisor (and with minimum supervision) as an Analytical Development Scientist, you will carry out assignments on raw materials, intermediates, bulk drug substances and solid dosage forms to company and regulatory authority requirements. You will also develop, validate and document new analytical methods and specifications for raw materials, active ingredients, dosage forms, bulk drug substances and degradation products.

The company is one of the major global pharmaceutical companies and as such it is essential that you hold a degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry (or equivalent) and that you have experience of working within the pharmaceutical industry. Previous pharmaceutical experience is essential and for more senior positions team leadership experience will be required.

Analytical Development Team Leader –Swindon, UK

An Analytical Development Team Leader is required to join a contract manufacturing company based in Swindon. As Analytical Development Team Leader you will be responsible for managing, coordinating and implementing the development of analytical methodologies for the analysis of pharmaceutical materials.

Working as an Analytical Development Team Leader your role will also include the management of activities of the assigned group and contributing to setting departmental standards and objectives. You will be ensuring that projects are completed to the required quality and agreed deadlines and utilising the resources available to ensure that they contribute maximum effectiveness in achieving project objectives.

This global organisation, a provider of technology advanced materials  based in North Wales, require a Senior Analytical Chemist to work in the QC laboratory at their site in North Wales.

This Senior Analytical Chemist role will involve supervising 4 technicians who work a 24/7 shift pattern involving testing of resin systems. The ideal candidate will have experience of HPLC, viscosity testing and DSC. You will have chemical background with experience in the laboratory as a supervisor.

The role is a 6 month contract so it is essential you are immediately available or available on a maximum of 1 weeks notice. Entitlement to work in the EEA is essential.

Study Director – Molecular Biology based in London, UK

Our client, is dedicated to creating the next generation of antivirals and vaccines for a number of respiratory and enteric viral diseases and their research ranges from pre-clinical (analytical) services through first-into-man (Phase 1a) studies and into human challenge studies (Phase 1b and Phase 2a proof-of-concept).  They are currently searching for an experienced Molecular Biologist to direct studies according to protocol, within specified time-frames, to GXP standards and to ensure milestones are reached for a specialist contract research organisation based in London.

The main duties of this Study Director role will include overseeing, managing and supervising all pre clinical studies and providing support to clinical studies as well as introducing new techniques and procedures to maintain scientific capability in line with competitors. You will also be heavily involved with designing and executing scientific experiments and proposing, developing and validating new methodologies

A successful Study Director, you will have excellent project management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to run multiple studies at the same time. You will be able to summarise, interpret and review data and will have the ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations. You will also be able to motivate people and be able to manage and supervise effectively. This is a client facing role and therefore strong communication skills are essential.

It is essential that you hold a BSc in a relevant subject (or equivalent) and that you have gained experience working as a Study Director. You will be adept in a wide range of Molecular Biological and Virology techniques such as cell culture, performing virology assays (e.g. HA/HI/ELISA’s/virustatic and virucidal assays), Immunology (cytokine/proliferation assay, developing reagents/markers of infection and inflammation assays), RT-PCR, site-directed mutagenesis, etc. It is also essential that you have supervisory experience along with experience of working to budgets. Any experience of Phase I/II clinical studies would be advantageous.
