Norwich Research Park to Create 5,000 Jobs

Business Secretary Vince Cable has opened the Norwich Research Park, set to create 5,000 jobs, reports EDP24.com.

Mr Cable praised the park, calling it “world beating” and “ambitious” as he opened the facility equipped with office space and laboratories. The area the park has been built in is one with a high concentration of food and environmental science businesses, and the project is expected to create around 5,000 jobs over the next fifteen years.

Mr Cable reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the science industry by agreeing to a £26 million investment into the Norwich Research Park, as business plans have been submitted to the government. The park is expected to create the jobs by expanding thanks to the investment.

Project Manager Job (Pharmaceutical Development) – South East, M4, UK

We are currently searching for a Project Manager to join a CMO based along the M4 to act as a liaison between the client and internal Pharmaceutical Development Departments to ensure that all needs are met concerning both project budgets and timelines.

 

Responsibilities:

As Project Manager, you will be accountable to the internal organisation, as well as to the client, to monitor and maintain the project budget and timelines.

Typically managing up to 5 medium projects at one time, as Project Manager, you will be responsible for following:

  • The chairing of all project meetings, teleconferences and face-to-face interactions etc
  • The generation, updating and facilitating of agreements to project plans including accuracy of revenue forecasting, data transfer to the Sales Order Register and timely invoicing to clients
  • You will also have responsibility for the generation, monitoring and control of assigned project budgets, ensuring full transparency of performance versus budget for all assigned projects and for resolving project issues and resource constraints within the team

For this role Project Manager position it is essential that you can effectively communicate internally and externally, adopting a professional approach within the project teams, with clients, and to internal Senior Management. Client Management is another key aspect as is the ability to provide training, mentoring and support to other project managers and coordinators.

 

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate for this Project Manager role will come form a Pharmaceutical Development background and will have experience of Clinical trails Manufacture, Commercial Manufacture, Project Management along with Financial awareness and Client contact experience.

Key Responsibilities

Working as an Analytical Chemist within a busy customer facing laboratory, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a small team of analysts as well as maintaining a hands on role in the analysis of environmental and water samples using techniques such as LCMS and HPLC including performing trace analysis.

As a senior member of a busy, customer-facing laboratory, you will also be involved in liaising closely with customers during the sample turnaround and relaying results.

Qualified Person Job (QP) – South East, UK

CK Science is currently searching for a Qualified Person (QP) to join our client, a company which provides Clinical Trial services including import, secondary packaging, batch release and distribution of Advance Therapy Medicinal Products and other specialised IMPs.

This QP role is a 12 month fixed term contract that is a full time position but there maybe the possibility to work part time for the right candidate.

 

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this QP position will include:

  • To provide QP certification/release as required by technical agreements with clients.
  • To conduct internal and external audits.
  • To act as the primary contact point for Quality for major clients.
  • To maintain an up-to-date awareness of current legislation and contribute to QP politics.
  • To provide technical advice and support in the preparation of Technical Agreements to the Contracts and Proposals group.
  • To provide GMP training.

 

Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate for this QP role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Pharmaceutical development experience
  • Experience in the management of Clinical Supplies
  • Knowledge of the regulatory processes for clinical trials.

QA Manager (GCP) – London, UK

A QA Manager is required to join a CRO based in London, UK.

 

As QA Manager, the main aim of your role will be to implement and manage the CRO’s Quality System and to develop and implement QA GCP audit strategy in line with the overall QA strategy. You will also be responsible for ensuring the compliance of their clinical trials in accordance with business and statutory regulations and reporting critical GCP non-compliance.

Working as a QA Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the source of advice and guidance on GCP and SOP related quality issues and will determine the effectiveness of the Company’s quality systems and procedures.
  • Delivering the SOP Management System.
  • Assessing GCP non-conformities and non-compliant findings.
  • Supporting the implementation of technical training within the Company.
  • Co-ordinating with the GCP regulatory inspectorate client auditors and customers.
  • Ensuring compliance of the quality documentation related to Clinical processes and studies through audit and review.

The ideal candidate for this QA Manager position will be degree qualified (or equivalent) and will ideally hold a  qualification in Quality or QA.  This QA Manager job also demands a candidate with experience and knowledge in the following:

  • Industrial experience within QA.
  • Proven auditing experience across full range of clinical audit types including CROs, investigator sites, protocol, clinical study reports, systems and submissions.
  • Proven management experience.
  • A good knowledge of phase I – IV studies, bioanalytical, PK, skin, blood and urine laboratory analysis an experience auditing.
