Mechanical Engineer Job (Scientific) Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire, UK

Our client is a leading Medical Devices Organisation. They are currently searching for a Mechanical Engineer to join there Multidisciplinary Research and Development team based in the Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire region.

Working as a Mechanical Engineer you will be working within a multidisciplinary team of Scientists and Engineers.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Engineer, you  will be involved in working on and leading demanding technology and product development projects in sensor technology, optical electronics and/or device physics for markets ranging from healthcare to consumer products.

 

Person Specification:

To be considered for this Mechanical Engineer role you will have a BSc in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent).  Excellent knowledge of fluidics, structures, materials and/or thermodynamics. Previous experience in medical device development would be advantageous but not essential. Experience with MATLAB and/or MATHCAD would be ideal. Project management experience would also be ideal.

Our client, an innovative and industry leading Instrumentation and Medical Technology manufacturer, are currently looking for a Quality Manager to join their growing QA & RA Team based from their site in Hampshire, UK.

Working as a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for fostering, driving forward and embedding the organisation’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with industry quality (ISO) and regulatory standards in terms of productdesign control, production, training of staff and customer support. Within these areas, you will also be required to initiate, facilitate and support process improvement; ensuring CE marked products meet EEA standards and directives as well as overseeing all product UL listings.

Junior Product Development Engineer Job – South Wales

My client is currently seeking to recruit a Junior Product Development Engineer to work with them at their site in South Wales on a permanent basis

This Junior Product Development role will involve developing novel and effective surgeon-driven electro-surgical instruments that improve patient outcome and enable faster recovery, carry out engineering design activities which contribute to the entire development process from Phase 0 through to 5 including; research, concept generation and selection, development, CAD modelling, calculations, analysis, engineering drawing, prototype, testing, design for manufacture, reviews, verification and validation, provide input on product support issues, liaise with suppliers, work to 21 CFR 820, ISO 14385 amongst others and provide input into other team members. 

The ideal candidate for this Junior Product Development role will be educated to degree level, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or similar with a medical device bias would be an advantage.

You will also ensure all work carried out in compliance with the correct processes and procedures and take ownership of assigned ER’s CAPA’s and VMP activities.

A Research Scientist is required to join an innovative Diagnostic Device Organisation based in London, UK.

Working as a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for the development of procedures for the conjugation of antibodies to a variety of fluorescent and phosphorescent labels and the immobilisation of antibodies and antigens to thermoplastic solid supports. You will also be involved in the design, formulation and development of novel immunoassays and microfluidic based assays for use on optical detection technology.

Medical Device Auditor required for a world leading Medical Device Auditing Consultancy based in Hampshire, UK.

Our client, a world leading Medical Device Auditing Consultancy, are currently looking for an Auditor to join their busy and growing Auditing Team, based from their state-of-the-art facilities in Hampshire, UK.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as Medical Device Auditor, you will be involved in auditing medical device manufacturers and certifying their products against European standards (ISO 13485, MDD), as well as preparing and managing all relevant auditing documentation. As well as auditing and certification, you will also ensure that clients maximise the value and effectiveness of their quality systems. Due to the nature of this role some UK & Overseas travel is required.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a world leading Medical Device Auditing Consultancy, which in return offers an attractive salary and benefits package as well as a structured training program to develop the successful candidate in to a Lead Auditor.

The ideal candidate for this Medical Device Auditor job will have a degree in a relevant Scientific or Engineering discipline (or equivalent) and proven practical experience performing a Quality or Regulatory function within the Medical Device industry including demonstrated knowledge of the Medical Device Directives (MDD) and ISO 13485.
