Formulation Development Scientist Jobs x 2 – Northern Ireland

Naynesh Mistry at CK Science is currently looking to recruit 2 x Formulation Development Scientists to join an international pharmaceutical organisation to work at their site in Northern Ireland on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

As a Formulation Development Scientist, the post holder will be directly involved in the development of all aspects of the processes used in the manufacture of new and existing drug products (dosage forms will include tablets and capsules)

The post holder will:

  • Assume direct involvement in the process development for the manufacture of medicinal products based in a range of dosage forms including tablets, capsules, controlled release systems, liquids and semi-solids.
  • Operate the various pieces of equipment involved in the process, at laboratory, pilot and commercial scale
  • Complete accurate process documentation in accordance with GMP, to include manufacturing documents and preparation of reports
  • Participate in transfer of technology from formulation development to production; liaising with production to ensure smooth transfer of information
  • Liaise with production in relation to manufacture of clinical trial batches
  • Participate in critical interpretation of experimental data
  • Participate in practical problem solving in relation of on-going and new projects

Qualifications and skills required:

The ideal candidate for this Formulation Development Scientist role would have a Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in a Scientific/Technical discipline.

Essential requirements are as follows:

  • Experience in solid dosage manufacturing
  • Previous experience of pharmaceutical drug product manufacturing techniques such as dry powder blending, granulation, encapsulation and tablet compression
  • Previous experience of completing batch processing instructions in accordance with GMP
  • Experience in cGMP audits and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Office, Excel etc)

Supplies Co-ordinator (Supply Chain) – Nottingham

Naynesh Mistry is currently looking to recruit a Supply Chains Coordinator to join a leading provider of early stage and specialist drug development services to Pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical devices to clients worldwide, to work at their site in Nottingham on a permanent basis.

The role:

The main role will be the co-ordination of overhead and study-specific supplies procurement and materials management in support of development and GMP activities, working alongside Pharmaceutical Sciences and Quality Assurance (QA) staff.

Responsibilities:

The main tasks and responsibilities of this Supplies Co-ordinator will include:

  • Plan and complete weekly workloads based on the schedule of Clinical Manufacturing and Development activities provided by the DCTM (Director Clinical Trials Manufacturing) or nominated deputy.
  • Write Clinical Trial Specification documents to define Quality standards for materials to ensure suitability for use in pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing
  • Undertaking procurement, booking in, CoSHH assessments, sampling, reconciliation and controlled disposal or client returns of development and clinical manufacturing supplies of drug substances, excipients and comparator products as applicable.
  • Monitoring and maintaining an clinical manufacturing materials portfolio of identified starting materials of the appropriate quality and quantity to meet the needs of studies activities in consultation with the D,CTM or nominated deputy.
  • In conjunction with study specific Responsible Manufacturing Scientist (RMS), ensuring all study materials are sourced, sampled and released in a timely manner to meet the manufacturing needs of all studies.
  • Ensure all materials are sourced from approved suppliers in agreement with relevant Quality and Procurement procedures
  • Obtain and compile documentation to enable timely release of supplies
  • Co-ordinate shipping of materials and Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) to clients or 3rd parties.
  • Identifying and maintaining appropriate overhead stock controls to ensure sufficient supply volumes are maintained at all times.
  • Maintain a well organized, tidy and compliant GMP Store to ensure adequate stock control and segregation.
  • In conjunction with other Pharmaceutical Sciences personnel, ensuring appropriate levels of radioactivity are procured within an adequate timeframe to meet the needs of development and clinical manufacturing experimentation and batch production.
  • Keeping detailed and accurate records of all work undertaken, ensuring that all records are clear, concise and legible at all times to enable for full repetition and traceability.
  • Working in a safe responsible manner at all times.
  • Performing other duties as reasonably required.

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this  Supplies Co-ordinator role will be degree qualified in a life-sciences subject or equivalent. Previous experience in a GMP environment, knowledge of pharmaceutical standards of raw materials and relevant experience in a supply chain role is desirable.

The aim of this Development Chemist role is to plan, manage and implement functional specific work associated with individual projects, solving technical and formulation changes and make recommendations within their skincare department.

Our client, an industry leading Technology Consultancy, are currently looking for an Assay Scientist to join their state-of-the-art facilities based in Cambridgeshire. Joining their Technology Development Team, you will be involved in a range of development projects surrounding technology for the Medical Device, Healthcare and Consumer industries.

Working as an Assay Scientist, you will be responsible for Project Management of multi-disciplinary teams surrounding the development of new technology, liaising on a consultancy basis with clients and maintaining a ‘hands on’ focus within the fields of assay development and formulation. You will also be involved in the mentoring and development of junior consultants.
