Regulatory Affairs Manager Job (Food Industry) – Hertfordshire, UK

Our client is a leading food supplements company for the FMCG industry based in Hertfordshire, UK. They are currently looking for a Regulatory Affairs Manager to join their Regulatory Affairs department.

 

Working as a Regulatory Affairs Manager you will be responsible for the management of the Regulatory Affairs department, including liaising with colleagues to gather information needed for any task across principally product formulations, finished product specifications and raw materials for new and reformulated products. You will also be responsible for maintaining high level of awareness of UK and European Regulatory issues and industry standards for nutritional food supplements and herbal medicines.

To be considered for this Regulatory Affairs Manager role you will have a degree in a relevant scientific discipline (or equivalent) and proven practical experience within a Regulatory Affairs function in the food supplement or pharmaceutical industries. Previous experience in the food supplement industry or knowledge of the new herbal regulations would be advantageous, but it is not essential.

Specifications Technologist (Food) – Yorkshire, UK

A Specifications Technologist is required to join a Food Manufacturer based in Yorkshire, UK on a permanent basis.

As Specifications Technologist, you will be responsible for gathering food specification information both internally and externally and interpreting/inputting the data so that it matches the requirements for customer specifications.

Further responsibilities of this Specifications Technologist job will include:

  • Updating and maintaining all finished product specifications, supplier ingredient and packaging specification files
  • Maintaining customer own format specifications
  • Creating pack copy for technical aspects of product artwork and labels
  • Liaising with ingredient and packaging suppliers and maintaining technical information systems.

The ideal candidate for this Specifications Technologist role will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, in a food related subject with experience of BRC or ISO9000 auditing. This Specifications Technologist job also demands a candidate with a strong understanding of technical food specification writing, online specification systems and knowledge of Food Labeling Regulations and nutritional calculations.

Profit Boost for Nothern Foods

Northern Foods, Food Manufacturer, Food Science, Jobs, UKThe Leeds based food manufacturer, Northern Foods, has reported an increase in revenue for the the year ended April 3 from £975m to £977m.
 
The food manufacturer accounted the rise in profits to an increase in investment in brands, automation, food science and technology. This has positioned the company for continued growth.
 
Northern Foods also stated that the last financial year had witnesed te firm strengthen its capabilities by recruiting new talent. The food maufacturer has recruited five new scientists, one per business unit – in otder to support their cheif scientist and gain advantage over their competitors in the food industry.
 
A spokesperson from Northern Foods said: “Northern Foods has traded solidly in challenging market conditions. We expect these conditions to continue, but we remain well positioned for the future.

“Even during these uncertain economic times we continue to invest in brands, cost efficiency and technology to deliver long term shareholder value supported by our strong financial position.”

Nightshift Food Hygiene Team Leader based in the East Midlands, UK

My client, a global leader in the food industry, is currently seeking to recruit a Nightshift Food Hygiene Team Leader to work with them on a permanent basis at their site in Nottingham.  The main purpose of this food hygiene role is to ensure the consistent achievement of the highest standards of hygiene  by managing a team of trained operatives day by day, whilst ensuring Health and Food safety legal compliance are adhered to at all times.

Further responsibilities of this Food Hygiene Team Leader role will include:

  • Maintaining and updating the sites hygiene standards.
  • Carrying out GMP audits.
  • Assisting in the preparation for BRC audits.
  • Carrying out food safety training and managing a team.
  • Involvement in customer complaints  investigation to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Involvement in purchasing and stock controlling hygiene equipment/materials.
  • Carrying out team briefings.

The ideal candidate for the role will be educated to HNC standard, or equivalent, or higher in Food Science or a related subject and have experience working within a similar role. Experience managing staff as well as a good knowledge of food hygiene, food legislation and BRC are required.
