Naynesh Mistry at CK Science is currently recruiting for a Senior Food Technologist to join a leading Food company based in Yorkshire on a permanent basis.
Summary:
The Senior Food Technologist will provide technical leadership and/or support to multiple global and regional projects with a focus on new product development, product line extensions, product/process improvements, cost reduction, margin improvement, or other work as assigned. Works in partnership with the other internal and external disciplines in the project team following the general principles of project management.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Food Technologist you will:
- Develop products through full product development process from kitchen samples to commercially viable products in line with the brief to time, cost and quality requirements
- Interface with customers, suppliers and co-packers, as required to meet department and Company objectives
- Coordinates raw material sourcing, evaluation, improvement activities with suppliers
- Directs the day to day work of one or more Technicians, as required
- Aware of trends, ingredients and new product introductions sharing relevant information with the rest of the innovations team.
- Provides project management leadership for complex work or problem
Qualifications:
The successful Senior Food Technologist will have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
- Degree or HND in Food Science or Food and Nutrition or equivalent
- People management experience
- Experience of food safety and/or HACCP would be desirable
- Experience in food product development or food science related area.
- Experience working in a fast paced New Product Development environment.
- Private label experience useful.
- Needs to have hands on experience in a development kitchen environment and worked with manufacturing processes.

Naynesh Mistry at CK Science is currently looking to recruit 2 x Formulation Development Scientists to join an international pharmaceutical organisation to work at their site in Northern Ireland on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
As a Formulation Development Scientist, the post holder will be directly involved in the development of all aspects of the processes used in the manufacture of new and existing drug products (dosage forms will include tablets and capsules)
The post holder will:
- Assume direct involvement in the process development for the manufacture of medicinal products based in a range of dosage forms including tablets, capsules, controlled release systems, liquids and semi-solids.
- Operate the various pieces of equipment involved in the process, at laboratory, pilot and commercial scale
- Complete accurate process documentation in accordance with GMP, to include manufacturing documents and preparation of reports
- Participate in transfer of technology from formulation development to production; liaising with production to ensure smooth transfer of information
- Liaise with production in relation to manufacture of clinical trial batches
- Participate in critical interpretation of experimental data
- Participate in practical problem solving in relation of on-going and new projects
Qualifications and skills required:
The ideal candidate for this Formulation Development Scientist role would have a Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in a Scientific/Technical discipline.
Essential requirements are as follows:
- Experience in solid dosage manufacturing
- Previous experience of pharmaceutical drug product manufacturing techniques such as dry powder blending, granulation, encapsulation and tablet compression
- Previous experience of completing batch processing instructions in accordance with GMP
- Experience in cGMP audits and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Office, Excel etc)

As a Product development Chemist you will be responsible for developing rubber based polymers to customer specifications and requirements. Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate for this Senior Analytical Chemist role will provide analytical support to the development and manufacture of a wide range of dosage forms from early formulation studies and clinical trial manufacture to NDA registration. This role will be very varied and includes method development and validation, provision of support during formulation development and manufacture, release testing and stability studies. The nature of the environment is fast paced. As such you would have a number of projects to work on at any one time spanning a diverse product, dosage form and client range. With this in mind good organisational skills are essential.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate for this Senior Analytical Chemist role must be qualified in Chemistry or a related subject (or equivalent) and previous laboratory experience, preferably in pharmaceutical analytical development is required. Proven experience in HPLC method development and validation are essential. Also the ideal candidate will have experience of working to cGLP / GMP and will have used the techniques as described above as well as GC, UV and dissolution techniques.

Our client is a diagnostics and manufacturing company based in Northern Scotland. They require a product development specialist with protein stabilisation experience to join their team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
A Product Development Scientist, you will provide expertise in the development of diagnostic technologies for cardiac tests, to contribute practically; with a hands-on approach, to the optimisation of assay formats and stabilisation of dried enzymatic based assay architecture to GMP/GLP standards.
You will work in a team to develop a stable reagent formulation to 12 months refrigerated stability, optimise assays to improve clinical performance of products and design in product and process robustness, and demonstrate this through (DoE). You will also develop products to design control while adhering to regulatory bodies. You must be able to ensure ELN records are accurate and present data in meetings to peers and be confident communicating to superior managers. Your role will also involve developing project management and planning skills to belay technicians where necessary.
Requirements:
You must be actively involved in the design and optimisation of immunoassays to improve room temperature stability and reduce (ATE) to an acceptable level. You must also be educated to degree level in an appropriate scientific discipline or possess equivalent commercial experience, and have excellent knowledge and understanding of protein biochemistry and the ability to apply analytical measurements in the IVD industry.Experience in working GMP/GLP standards are essential.

Responsibilities:

Skills and experience:
You will have sufficient technical experience to be a driving force within the group and to be able to impart your knowledge to more junior members of staff.
It is likely that you will be the analytical representative for project teams and as such having strong communication skills, to be able to converse and build the clients confidence is essential.
The nature of the environment is fast paced and as such you will have a number of projects to work on at any one time spanning a diverse product, dosage form and client range. With this in mind good organisational skills are also essential.
