Design Engineer Jobs in the North West

Design Engineer Job Description:

As one of the four required Design Engineers, you will join this R&D organisation who are currently designing new products for the offshore oil and gas industry.

The main roles and responsibilities of these Design Engineer positions will be to complete all design engineering work allocated by a Product Design Manager in an efficient and timely manner. You will work with the Engineering Team’s Draughts people to ensure that drawings fully comply with the Customer’s requirements and are in line with the company standard procedures. You are also required to work with other Design Engineers to ensure that design documentation fully complies with the Customer’s requirements and is in line with the company standard procedures.

Further responsibilities of this Design Engineer positions will include:

  • Supporting the Engineering Resource Manager to provide design engineering cover.
  • Performing design engineering activities within the Customer Groups on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensure that all products are designed in accordance with customer requirements, company practice and recognized engineering standards.
  • Improving product design methods and procedures.
  • -Generating technical presentations for either internal or external purposes.
  • Ensuring information in drawings and documentation is both correct and complete.
  • Providing technical support for products associated with all Customer Group activities and production plant and equipment if required.
  • Assisting in the communication of technical data to Customers and sub-contractors.
  • Interfacing with Supply Chain and Operations as required.

As a Design Engineer you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A minimum of BEng or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or a related subject, ideally MEng qualified.
  • Proved experience within industry of working effectively on more than one project at a time, communicating effectively, building good relationships and working well within a multi-disciplined team.
  • Be confident in solving engineering problems and will think beyond analyses and drawings, as well as learning about new products and adapting new ideas quickly and accurately.
  • Work in a logical and analytical manner and will have prior experience of working in a manufacturing industry performing analytical calculations.

This Design Engineer role will be primarily office-based and may involve international travel for short durations at short notice – eligibility to travel overseas is required. You may be required to work out-of-hours to accommodate time zone variations.

Process Improvement Manager: Job Description

Our client, a major Healthcare organisation is currently recruiting for a Process Improvement Manager to join their team based in the East Midlands.

As Process Improvement Manager you will provide focus on the development of new and existing processes. By building quality in to the process design our products will be produced in the most efficient way and meet the customer and regulatory needs.

You will also be responsible for leading the Process Improvement Team to provide an efficient service to optimise manufacturing and cleaning processes using a Quality By Design approach whilst ensuring the validation activities meet Regulatory and Customer requirements.

As Process Improvement Manager, you will need to provide an effective New Product Introduction service for Clinical Trial clients to ensure new products are introduced successfully and that the processes are developed and validated to ensure the required levels of product quality and regulatory compliance are met. You will also need to deliver a comprehensive process, equipment and cleaning validation programme in accordance with cGMP and Customer requirements.

The ideal candidate:

To be considered for this Process Improvement Manager role, you will have previous experience in the development or manufacture of healthcare products with a proven track record of new product introduction is critical to this role. In depth knowledge of cGMP, multiple dosage forms with an emphasis on sterile products and an awareness of Unlicensed and Licensed Legislation are key to your success in this role and previous leadership and management skills would be an advantage.

As Process Improvement Manager, you will enjoy working cross functionally in a fast paced environment with teams of diverse people, have a can do attitude with the capability to plan and see the bigger picture, excellent Leadership and Customer Service skills and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels across the business.

This Chemical Processing Engineering Graduate has 3 years  experience of working on a contract basis for a number of well known global brands. His experience includes:

  • Drawing up Piping and Instrumentation Design (P&IDs).
  • Helping write basis of design, process description and has also performed equipment sizing.
  • Site experience.

Area Sales Manager Job

Vicki’s client, a manufacturer of urethane formulated systems, is recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to cover the South of the UK (including South Wales and Essex).

Responsibilities:

The main roles and responsibilities of this Area Sales Manager will be to sell its technically advanced structural adhesives, coatings, and binders systems to UK industrial users and installers. There will be the opportunity for a certain amount of account management and you will be involved in customer trials/ demonstrations, operating effectively at all levels within the customers’ structure. You will also be required to provide technical support to the existing customer base, and report weekly to the company’s head office in theWest Midlands.

The ideal candidate:

To be considered for this Area Sales Manager position, you will hold a 2:1 or above in a Science based degree or equivalent, preferably in Chemistry/ Material Science (Polymers). You will be able to demonstrate the ability to successfully sell technically advanced products to industrial users and will have a background in technical service or commercial sales. Experience of selling formulated chemical systems would be a distinct advantage or a candidate with experience in a technical role with some customer support who is now looking to move into technical sales.

The ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate for this Sales Consultant position must have experience within a contract research organisation and be up to date with current science, with a minimum of one or two years experience.

You must be flexible to work on site for a minimum of six months and happy to live or relocate to North Scotland.
