Responsibilities:
Your main responsibility will be evaluating the cause of instrumentation equipment breakdowns within the laboratories. As part of the role you will either perform any necessary repairs on the equipment and/or coordinate with external service providers.
Person Specification:
You will have a HND (or equivalent) in a relevant Scientific, Mechanical or Electrical discipline. Previous experience with fault finding, calibrating or repairing laboratory equipment such as HPLC, GC, PCR, SDS-Page, ELISA is essential. Prior experience of fault finding of electro-mechanical systems to a component level would be advantageous howevernot essential. They are currently looking for a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join their team based in Cambridge, UK. As Laboratory Supervisor you will supervise a team that is responsible for sample accessioning and antibody testing within the Clinical Specialty Laboratory in Cambridge.
You will report to Laboratory Manager, based in the US and your responsibilities will include:
Entering sample data from commercial registry programs and clinical trial programs in a specialised laboratory information system.
Supervise analytical testing for clinical studies
Monitor laboratory efficiencies and quality as they relate to sample receipt,
Database entry and reagent inventory.
As Clinical Laboratory Supervisor will also be responsible for shipping samples for testing to sites in the US and other CRO sites. You may be required to travel to other sites mainly based in the US and Europe as required. This position will require contact with a variety of sites including hospitals, reference laboratories, doctor’s offices, doctors and nurses.
