Analytical Chemist – Aberdeen

Barney Smith is recruiting for an Analytical Chemist to join a company who are global players in the Oil & Gas industry in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:

The Analytical Chemist role will involve analysis of oil, diesel and drilling fluids using mainly GC although there will be opportunities for working with other instrumentation as and when required.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate for this Analytical Chemist role must be qualified to minimum degree level in chemistry or related subject and ideally have some experience using GC or related instrumentation.  A UK driving licence would also be useful as the role could involve sample collection from remote sites.

Shift Chemist – Teesside

Responsibilities:

The Shift Chemist role involves analytical testing of Oil, Gas and Chemicals using GC, GC-MS, AA, IC, UV, IR and wet chemistry. The role will also involve working on site, at heights and in confined spaces.

Qualifications:

As a Shift Chemist you must be qualified to minimum degree level in chemistry or related subject or possess equivalent industrial experience. A flexible approach to working will be required as you will be working around shipping itineraries.

Microbiologist Job in Tyne and Wear, County Durham, UK

Barney Smith at CK Science is currently recruiting for a Microbiologist to join a pharmaceutical company based in the Tyne and Wear and County Durham on a permanent basis.

Microbiologist Job Description:

As a Microbiologist you will be responsible for taking environmental swabs, plate culturing, passive and active air sampling, cell culture and microbe monitoring using catylase and oxydase tests.  You will also be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of QA procedures.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

As a microbiologist you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified in microbiology or related subject or possess equivalent industrial experience
  • A proven track record working in an aseptic laboratory as a microbiologist within a GMP environment

Technical Manager – Aberdeen

Barney Smith at CK Science is recruiting for a Technical Manager to work at a specialist polymer manufacturing company based in Aberdeen for a permanent role.

Responsibilities:

As a Technical Manager you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to clients globally and offshore.  You will also develop polymer coating using extraction and injection moulding techniques to customer specifications.  The team is small and you will have to be hands on and happy to work any area including QA, QC, or dealing with technical specifications.

Qualification and skills:

As a Technical Manager you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Masters qualified in a polymer processing related subject or equivalent industrial experience
  • A proven track record in extrusion or injection moulding

The job:
