Analytical Chemist Job – East London/Kent

Our Client is a Global Pharmaceutical Company currently recruiting for an Analytical Chemist for a Contract role within their QA Analytical Laboratory based in East London/Kent, UK.

Responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities will be to ensure accurate, timely and efficient analysis of materials being tested within the laboratory. Testing carried out will include wet chemical and instrumental analytical techniques, GC, HPLC, GLP and AA. Work will need to be carried out in line with the company’s policies on cGMP, Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and other specified policies. 

Your main duties will include following a test schedule to carry out analysis on materials, ensuring instrumentation and test methods are correctly maintained, preparing accurate reports of analytical results, maintaining stock levels for laboratory reagents and consumables. You will also be involved in preparing and modifying SOPs and general housekeeping and maintenance of the laboratory.

 

Person Specification:

To be considered for this role you will need to have a BSc in Chemistry or a related discipline (or equivalent). Previous experience in a QC or other analytical laboratory is essential. Knowledge and experience of major wet chemical and instrumental analytical techniques, GC and HPLC are also essential. Knowledge of pharmacopoeial testing, AA and GLP is desirable.

Analytical Development Scientist Jobs – Herts/London

We are currently recruiting for Analytical Development Scientists to join a global pharma company in Hertfordshire.

Based within a Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry group, you will be responsible for executing and planning analytical programmes including the completion of analytical assignments involving formulated and unformulated pharmaceutical substances to be used in clinical and preclinical studies.

Working under the broad guidance of your supervisor (and with minimum supervision) as an Analytical Development Scientist, you will carry out assignments on raw materials, intermediates, bulk drug substances and solid dosage forms to company and regulatory authority requirements. You will also develop, validate and document new analytical methods and specifications for raw materials, active ingredients, dosage forms, bulk drug substances and degradation products.

The company is one of the major global pharmaceutical companies and as such it is essential that you hold a degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry (or equivalent) and that you have experience of working within the pharmaceutical industry. Previous pharmaceutical experience is essential and for more senior positions team leadership experience will be required.

Analytical Development Scientist Job – M4 Corridor, Wiltshire, UK

Within this Analytical Development Scientist role you will provide analytical support to the development and manufacture of a wide range of dosage forms from early formulation studies and clinical trial manufacture to NDA registration. The work is very varied and includes method development and validation, provision of support during formulation development and manufacture, release testing and stability studies. 

Our client is a global CMO based in Wiltshire. The nature of the environment is fast paced. As such you would have a number of projects to work on at any one time spanning a diverse product, dosage form and client range. With this in mind good organisational skills are essential.

To be considered for this Analytical Development Scientist role, it is essential that you have considerable experience in reversed phase HPLC / UV / DAD detection, sample preparation (solid phase, liquid and solvent extraction) and method development / validation.

You must be qualified in Chemistry or a related subject (or equivalent) and previous laboratory experience, preferably in pharmaceutical analytical development is required. Proven experience in HPLC method development and validation are essential. You will also have experience of working to cGLP / GMP and will have used the techniques as described above as well as GC, UV and dissolution techniques.

Development Scientist Job (Pharmaceutical) – South Wales

As Microbiologist, you will be responsible for test and analysis of oil and water under UKAS standards and also the collection of samples from a range of sites.

The ideal candidate for this Microbiologist position will be qualified to minimum HNC/HND level in microbiology or possess equivalent industrial experience and hold a current driving licence as you will need to be able to visit sites at short notice. Material Scientist (Polymer, Chemical) – Hertfordshire, UK

A Materials Scientist is required to join an industry expert in providing consultancy surrounding materials research for the Oil & Gas industry. As Materials Scientist you will join the company’s project research team based at their Testing and Development facilities in Hertfordshire, UK.

Working as part of project based research teams, as a Materials Scientist you will be involved in the testing of polymer based materials (rubber, plastic, elastomer etc.) including exploring the effects of mechanical, environmental and chemical conditions/substances on the materials. As you will be working with a consultancy organization, as a Materials Scientist you will be required to work closely with clients regarding results and findings.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work with the industry leading consultancy specialising in materials based industries including Oil & Gas, Aerospace and Transport Technology.

To be considered for this Materials Scientist role, you will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • A BSc, PhD in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemistry or a related Scientific or Engineering discipline (or equivalent)
  • Proven practical experience of testing polymer-based materials (rubber, plastic, elastomer) gained within the materials, chemical or a related industry.

Analytical Chemist Required for Leading Waste Management Organisation, North West, UK

Our client, a leading waste management organisation, is currently looking for an Analytical Chemist to work in the waste sector at their site in the North West of England. This Analytical Chemist role includes shift work and is on a temp to perm basis.

Reporting to the Assistant Site Manager/Operations Manager, the key responsibilities of this Analytical Chemist job will include:

  • To ensure site license, working plan and storage conditions regarding waste treatment and transfer are adhered to
  • To ensure effective operation of all site processes
  • To test for and identify treatment processes for all incoming drummed waste
  • To sample all processes on site and complete daily analysis records
  • To liaise with Site Manager regarding the inputs to the site and where necessary make recommendations based on chemical knowledge
  • To ensure that all records are accurate and up to date
  • To work closely with site operations, customer services and sales
  • To undertake site audits
  • To maintain and update local site procedures
  • To investigate alternative treatment methods available on the site
  • To liaise with regulatory authorities

The ideal candidate for this Analytical Chemist job will possess an HNC qualification in chemistry or degree in chemistry (or equivalent). Previous experience of working in a laboratory environment is required and the candidate will be expected to possess excellent communication, planning and organisation skills and be a good team player. Development Manager (Compounding and Manufacturing) based in the North of Scotland

Our client, a global organisation providing field-proven solutions to the oil and gas industry, are currently looking for a Development Manager to join their team based in the North of Scotland. The purpose of this Development Manager role is to develop the compounding and manufacturing process for elastomer based products on a global scale.

Further responsibilities of this Compounding and Manufacturing Manager role include:

  • Developing manufacturing strategies (both compound mixing and product manufacturing) on a global level to ensure that products are continually supplied to required quality, delivery and cost levels.
  • Direct liaison and negotiating with potential manufacturing vendors/partners to allow for controlled expansion of the global manufacturing footprint.
  • Providing technical expertise to the R&D / Engineering / Supply Chain teams and specialised third parties in relation to compound development and enhancement.
  • Providing professional documentation and training for the efficient knowledge transfer to the Supply Chain when appropriate.
  • To be able and willing to travel to any location if required to do so due to operational manufacturing needs.
  • Developing relationships with compounding and manufacturing facilities.
  • Assisting with continuous improvement plans relating to new compounding & manufacturing processes and techniques.

The successful candidate will be qualified to minimum HND in chemistry or equivalent industrial experience and have a proven track record of working in compounding and manufacture of elastomers. You must also possess some managerial or supervisory experience. Entitlement to work in the EEA is essential.
