Our client, an industry leading Petrochemical Testing Laboratory, are currently looking for an Analytical Chemist to join their state-of-the-art Analytical Laboratory facilities based at their site in London, UK.

Working as an Analytical Chemist, you will be responsible for the analysis of petrochemical, Oil & Gas and other chemical samples, using a wide range of physical property analysis (ASTM, IP) and analytical techniques such as ICP, AA, GCMS, HPLC and GC. Working in a busy, customer facing laboratory, you will also be required to monitor quality standards in the laboratory (UKAS, ISO) as well as liaise with the customer surrounding results of tests.

Working as a Development Engineer, you will be responsible for all aspects of design, assembly and testing of the organisations printing systems. Your duties will include the design (CAD) and prototyping of systems in line with customer requirements; implementing technology development as well as carrying out testing and validation of subsystems and systems solutions through empirical testing and analytical models.

As a Shift Chemist, you will be working on a shift rotation and will be required to analyse samples in the laboratory using wet chemistry techniques, GC, FTIR, UV and AA and collect samples and perform on site testing.

QC Analyst Job (Pharmaceuticals) – Essex, UK

CK Science are currently recruiting for a QC Analyst to join a multi-skilled team providing a full range of laboratory services based in Essex, UK.

The laboratory is responsible for the sampling of raw and packaging materials, analysis of raw/packaging materials and product, sensory evaluation, research and development.

Responsibilities:

As a QC Analyst you will undertake the more complex and advanced analytical methodology in GC, HPLC, FTIR plus other laboratory equipment and methodology to satisfy daily work schedules. You will undertake daily sampling/analysis activities and will ensure all work is carried out to GLP. It is also envisaged that you will be able to deputise for the Laboratory Services Manager as required.

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate for this QC Analyst position, you will be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Chemistry and will have experience of a wide range of analytical techniques including GC, HPLC and FTIR. A working knowledge of Syspro, Word, Excel and the day to day operation of the LIMS systems wouldbe highly advantageous.

Operations Chemist – Sheffield, UK

A Operations Chemist is required to join one of the UK’s most successful waste management companies based in Sheffield, UK.

As an Operations Chemist, you will be responsible for the safe receipt and identification of waste brought to site. This involves examination and analysis of packaged chemicals, in drums and boxes to ensure that they correspond to the description given by customers. Bulk liquid wastes are also received, which must also be sampled and analysed before discharging into tanks. Paperwork systems must be followed and maintained to ensure accurate tracking of the wastes.

Following full training, as Operations Chemist you will be required to drive several items of mobile plant including forklift trucks. Prior experience of driving such equipment would be an advantage.

The hours of working are 45 hours per week, consisting of five nine-hour shifts between 0700 hrs and 1800 hrs, depending on shift pattern.

The ideal candidate for this Operations Chemist job must be willing to work in the open air in all weather conditions testing packaged and bulk chemical wastes. This can often be a dirty and uncomfortable task. This Operations Chemist also job involves a certain amount of manual handling although mechanical assistance is provided for most tasks. There may also be offsite visits to customer premises or to collect wastes.

This Operations Chemist job demands a candidate who is educated to Degree standard or equivalent in Chemistry or a related subject. Previous experience in the waste industry is essential for this Operations Chemist role.
