CK Science is currently looking for a Large Scale Synthesis Chemist to join a global pharma company based in Hertfordshire, UK.
The ideal candidate for this Large Scale Synthesis Chemist position will hold a minimum of a degree in Chemistry (or equivalent) and will have an excellent theoretical and practical understanding of Synthetic Organic Chemistry. You will also hold the following qualifications and experience:
- You will have a track record of delivery as part of a Large Scale Synthesis Chemistry group in an industrial environment and hands-on experience of planning, executing and troubleshooting large scale chemical synthesis campaigns (up to ~1kg, 20L scale).
- You will be able to independently propose and prioritise several synthetic routes to target molecules and will also be proficient with chemistry scale-up laboratory equipment/techniques.
- You will have a demonstrated ability to work on Large Scale >100g (preferably Kg scale) as well as the ability to conduct multistep synthesis and to solve complex synthetic problems.
- An understanding of the importance to deliver the end product/final compound is essential and knowledge and experience of modern purification techniques and large scale purification techniques e.g. crystallisation are expected. Any knowledge or experience of Lara Synthesis Systems and/or the operation of DSC would be a distinct advantage.
