CK Group are working in partnership with ImmuONE to recruit a Business Development Manager/ Head of Business Development, to be based out of their state-of-the-art R&D facilities in Stevenage, on a permanent basis.

About the company:

ImmuONEspun out of the University of Hertfordshire with the vision of providing an innovative human-relevant testing alternative to animal testing. They build and provide lab-grown lung platforms and toxicology services.

From their 2019 origins, inthe cell culture lab of the University of Hertfordshire, ImmuONE now has its own 1,800 sq ft facilities at Sycamore house in central Stevenage. They have already achieved global reach, working with international clients from the USA, the EU and Asia. With an expanding team and considerable experience related to in vitro inhalation within the team, the company is well on track to achieve their vision to become a leader for in vitro lung products and services and the UK’s only commercial specialist in this area.

About the role:

The main purpose of this position is to develop, build and grow external relationships to win business, and to increase revenue by identifying new commercial opportunities and increasing brand awareness.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the ImmuONE Business Development function, working with technical teams to identify opportunities for growth, and inspiring a commercial mindset throughout the business.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the growth of existing key clients and seeking out new opportunities with new clients.
  • Develop and maintain an extensive market knowledge, including detailed knowledge of our competitors, their activities and business risk.
  • Utilising your well-established existing networks to identify and build relationships with potential customers.
  • Building relationships with existing customers to understand where there is potential to increase revenue.
  • Attending relevant conferences and networking events in the UK, and globally to generate sales leads and to build awareness of the company brand.
  • Working with marketing colleagues to provide sales input to website and social media content, and to develop presentations for delivery to commercially relevant audiences.
  • Driving the company sales strategy, reporting on progress against key deliverables and steering as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Providing project leadership to commercially relevant projects, and supporting the wider business, including the scientists.
  • Training, developing, mentoring and line managing a small team of business development staff in a highly collaborative manner.

About you:

To be considered for the position, you shouldideally have the following skills and expertise:

  • The ability to build successful working relationships with key stakeholders, peers and junior staff, as well as external consultants and collaborators.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with customers.
  • A proven track record in life science sales, with demonstrable experience of achieving sustained growth within customer accounts.
  • An existing network of contacts in the industry.
  • Qualified to a minimum of BSc level in, or possess equivalent experience of, a relevant scientific subject.
  • Experience of B2B marketing would be beneficial for this position, although not essential.
