CK Group are recruiting for a Senior Scale Up Scientist to join rapidly growing research and development company at their site based in Stirling on a permanent.

This role is located at their state of the art facility based in Stirling. There are good transport links and the site is easily accessible from the M9. Stirling is a desirable place to live and work and is easily commutable from Glasgow, Edinburgh or Dundee.

Senior Scale Up Scientist Role:

This role is mainly hands on lab based but you will have people management and development responsibilities within the reagents team and you will be the main contact for reagents process scale up.

Your main duties will be:

  • Lead scale up of Reagents process from R&D volumes to produce Manufacturing volumes.
  • Optimise antibody-particle binding and fluorophore antibody labelling chemistry at volume.
  • Optimise protein and particle purification processes using FPLC & TFF, improving process times and increasing volumes.
  • Design and develop reagents processes to eliminate variation and maximise throughput & output using process control plans and statistical tools.
  • Optimise in-process tests to realise real time process control and stable quality reagents.

Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Substantial relevant industrial experience.
  • Experience in protein and surface chemistry processes, protein to protein coupling, and protein to surface coupling.
  • Experience and understanding of characterisation techniques used to assess performance of antibody conjugates and microparticles.
  • Protein purification and analysis experience.
