Barney Smith is recruiting for a Senior Development Chemist for an innovative chemical manufacturer in the Newcastle area.

The Development Chemist role will involve leading projects in formulating new heat transfer fluids and will also involve modifying existing products to customer specifications. This will include design of procedures, experiments and test rigs (ensuring effective simulation of field conditions), providing technical support to clients, sales teams and marketing personnel. You will also develop research collaborations with academic institutions.

For this development chemist role, you must be qualified to minimum BSc in chemistry or related subject or possess equivalent experience in corrosion science and chemistry. You must also have a proven track record in developing heat transfer fluids or fluids which provide protection against corrosion. Good communication is essential for the role as you will need to work with external customers and internal teams and you^must be willing to undertake domestic and international travel as required.
