Barney Smith is recruiting for a quality engineer to work in a large food manufacturer based in the Borders of England and Scotland on a permanent basis.

As a quality engineer you will be responsible for improvement to manufacturing and quality systems to maximise efficiency, providing cost benefits. This will involve taking responsibility for specific quality systems, analysing and actioning specific projects designed to improve business performance and conduct audits on site over a range of^disciplines.

For the quality engineer position, you must be qualified to minimum HNC/HND in food science or related discipline or equivalent industrial experience.  You must have working knowledge and experience of ISO and BRC standards and be used to working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.  Some project planning experience would be useful.  Entitlement to work in the UK is essential.
