Responsibilities

As a Data & Document Reviewer, the main purpose of your role will be to be responsible for the checking and reviewing of analytical data and documents (SOPs, protocols, reports etc.) and to develop and implement efficient manual/electronic systems and procedures for the storage, searching, trending and retrieval of analytical data and documents.

• Assist with the identification of alternative test methods and/or equipment to improve efficiency and maximise throughput of testing in the laboratories.

Qualifications

As a Data & Document Reviewer, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• GCSE (or equivalent) passes, grades A-C, in Mathematics and English Language 
• Degree qualification (or equivalent) in a Life Science related discipline and ideally degree level qualification (or equivalent) in an Analytical related discipline               
• Experienced in the preparation and review of analytical protocols, reports and data in a GMP/GLP environment.

Responsibilities

The Quality Manager will take day to day responsibility for ensuring company systems and procedures, including those covering laboratory, clinical and regulatory activities, are fit for purpose, consistent and meet external and internal requirements. Reporting to the Head of Regulatory, this role will coordinate the implementation of the company quality management system, provide internal training on quality procedures and monitor performance against agreed standards.

• Work within a multi-disciplinary team and matrix environment to promote the awareness of quality requirements throughout the company and train staff in quality related activities

• Establish, implement and maintain processes, including document control and training, needed for successful performance of the QMS
• Review the performance of the QMS at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness and propose improvements
• Manage an internal audit programme and propose and implement corrective actions
• Coordinate with purchasing and operational colleagues to establish quality requirements for external suppliers, including audit programme for external third parties
• Ensure company inspection readiness and lead regulatory agency and client inspections
• Provide compliance support to internal staff by providing advice and facilitate escalation of compliance issues through the appropriate route

The successful Quality Manager will have the following qualifications, skills & experiences:

• Be educated to degree level in a scientific discipline (or equivalent)
• Have experience in quality-related activities including the maintenance and monitoring of QMS, preferably including experience in a small / start-up organisation environment

As healthcare shifts towards a new value-based focus biotech companies have been seen to outpace their pharmaceutical counterparts in terms of growth income, investment in R&D and market cap over the past three years, according to analysis undertake by life science financial services firm, Burrill & Co.

“As the industry migrates away from an era of the one-size-fits-all blockbuster, the biotechnology industry’s strength at developing innovative therapies that meet unmet medical needs and target the molecular mechanisms of diseases gives it an upper hand in creating value,” said the firm’s chief executive, G Steven Burrill.

Big Biotech experienced a 57% increase in market cap for the three years ended December 31, 2012, as the total value of the group climbed to $260.6 billion from $160.1 billion at the end of 2009, says the analysis. That compared to a 17.4% increase for Big Pharma during the same period as the market cap for the group climbed to a collective $1,257 billion from $1,070 billion.

“The big jump in the value of Big Biotech companies is not just a matter of investor speculation – these companies have had significant clinical and market successes that have driven their value higher,” Mr Burrill points out.

Responsibilities:

The Product Quality Manager (Qualified Person) will be responsible for QP certification and final batch release of both commercial products and Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs).

As a Product Quality Manager (QP) you will:

• Ensure that each batch of commercial product manufactured has been checked for compliance with the Marketing Authorisation or Product licence
• Support the Product Quality Team to ensure that the unique quality requirements of each product are managed
• Attend teleconferences/meetings, initiating Qualified Person related discussions for new or ongoing business and offering advice on QP-related queries, as appropriate
• Represent the Quality Department during customer audits, regulatory inspections and sales visits
• Review and approve key quality system documentation, such as change requests, deviation reports, out of specification result investigations and customer complaint investigations
• Ensure that processes are in place to assure highly effective and efficient batch record review in line with customer and Pharma Services expectations
• Stay current with legislation, guidelines and other expectations of the pharmaceutical industry especially in relation to GMP, Quality Management and IMPs
• Identify and implement continuous improvement within the department and wider business.

Qualifications:

The successful Product Quality Manager (QP) will have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

• BSc or equivalent in science based discipline (Pharmaceutical, Chemistry) or equivalent,
• QP status achieved under permanent provisions
• Previous significant experience working within an established Quality System within a Pharmaceutical Industry.
• Experience in a customer facing role.
• Good knowledge of legal requirements, rules and guidance covering the manufacture of IMP’s in Europe and the rest of the world.
• Experience of Solid Dose
• Experience of supporting QP’s
• Knowledge of other pharmaceutical dosage forms including sterile products.
